New 69 Charger Data decode

Installed a Suregrip while I was in there.

AC parts are starting to get rebuilt.

I want to redo the instrument cluster. But I want to drive it awhile!

The car has obviously been repainted once and the paints either faded or the wrong paint was used. It’s a long way from T5 copper.

Bought this car today in Oregon. Haven’t got it home yet but will post photos when I get it here.

regarding this dataplate, a couple codes I don’t see in the book:

This picture represents the format and layout used at plants other than the Jefferson and Lynch Road plants beginning in 1970.

It is not the format used for '69 Chargers at either the Hamtramck or St. Louis plant.

There are numerous 69 tag decoders on line. Some are mostly accurate some are not so be careful which ones you use.

I see - I thought we were going to look at your car's tag.

In the actual tag shown (2 characters/2 positions for paint), it is normal for 1969. The "missing" first character of the paint code (xT5) is somewhat irrelevant as it refers to the model-year that particular color was first developed for (example below). The 3-digit paint/4-digit interior tag coding is as @69Coronetrt states - not until 1970; that decoder you show really isn't appropriate for 1969, and prior to '69, the tags are completely different.

If this tag/car had more options, there would be a 6th (top) line, but 5 lines was enough to code how this car was to be built. And if 6 lines aren't enough for a car's option codes (the ones that even GO on these tags), a second tag is added with the codes that didn't fit on the first tag.

Thank you

Yes the online decoders for 69 and onwards dont work with this type of fender tag. Do you ones that work correctly??

Im learning about fender tags, window stickers and broadcast sheet

...ones that work correctly??
Unfortunately, I don't. I basically do it manually from numerous lists and charts that I've saved from Many locations/people.
You can probably 'make' that one work with moderate accuracy. The codes are mostly the same between '69 and '70, but some tag positions are moved. Kind of like this:

I'd say go ahead and try entering something like this (below) and see how it works? You kind of know what you're expecting, so experiment a bit. I'd try that one you show, but I don't know where it's from.
