And down the rabbit hole I go....

Now the engine, the engine that came with the car is
1969 440 supposedly from a super bee,

The VIN on the block starts with 0F. The "0" indicates a 1970 model year car. The F indicates the Newark plant, which built full size Dodge and Plymouths so the block is out of a 1970 C body.

The A13 on the tag indicates the scheduled production date of October 13, 1972.

Ok , thanks for the info ..
All I can do is relay what I have been told,
And do research in the little spare time I have ...
I appreciate the help and knowledge I am receiving here ..
:D

Now here's a question, the car is supposed to have a black 3/4 top.
But someone filled in the holes ,or removed the trim pins ,
Where would I find out what was there to anchor the roof trim so I can see if it could be replaced? ? (I have the trim )
I also have the same problem with the rocker panels , driver side in front of the door has two pins for trim clips , but that's it , they have been removed from the rest of the car ? ! ? .(and I do not have the skinny rallye trim : ( ) .

"Lynch road car so not all codes on tag "

Umm .. what dose lynch road mean ? ?

Your car was built at the St. Louis plant (G in the VIN). 73 Chargers were also built at the Lynch Road plant (Indicated by an A in the same position in the VIN) in Detroit. The term "Lynch Road" is just short hand when referencing the plant. The fender tags on Lynch Road built cars are laid out differently and do not carry the A57 code like St. Louis cars do.

I thought I saw gate sequences up at the top, oops?

Your car is coded for belt molding.

That's the molding on the tops of the doors.

"I'd have fun with it since its not the numbers matching motor ,and no one really cares what we do with the 3rd gen charger s most people hate them. Make it how you want it it's your car I got my 72 rallye and I'm really ignoring the build sheet on this one . Good luck looks sweet"

I would have to disagree , 3rd gens are starting to become popular and as they do we are finding more of the rare ones with rare options etc. and ANY rallye from 72 up is basically the RT package by a different name . if you have a "numbers matching " one you'd be mad to chop it up( just as people are saying about 2nd gen now "why did they do this or that to a # matching RT ") ,that's just my two cents worth.
but I have been into the 3rd gens right from the start ( love them) . looks like someone was going the resto route with this car, going by how the motor is already dressed

Where are you guys finding the decoder for option codes ?

I'd make it like the one in "Wheels of Terror".

Where are you guys finding the decoder for option codes ?

Various sources. MOST on line decoders suck as they do not account for changes made through the model years or for a specific year. If you use a online decoder, realize you may not get the specific answer your year or application.

Depending on the year and make, some sales codes are listed in the data and trim books or salesman pocket cards. http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/library.shtml

OK yy1 is correct thanks I actually talked to a few guys about this and there were a hand full of cars that those moldings were installed on as per the buyer wanting them so mid 73 they made an option code so they could be added we don't have an exact number of how many were sold like that .but funny thing there's on on eBay right now bb 4 speed rallye 73 charger with the trim and it's 100% org Arizona car been sitting in a junk yard or something

Remember,,,Never say never when it comes to Ma Mopar and the assembly line in the 70's. I worked at a Dodge dealership back then. You would be amazed how things didn't match the tags. This is a extreme example..Chrysler was almost ready to fold and go under 73 to 77.(The new FWD Omni for 78 saved the day) Assembly line workers never knew if today was going to be their last. The messes that show up at the dealership you would never believe. I wish I had this car today. We got in a 75 Charger that was half Charger half Cordoba.Split right down the middle almost. It was a Charger with a Cordoba grille,Charger steering wheel,Cordoba dash,1 door panel a Charger the other a Cordoba, and one of each tail lights, and different badges and mouldings on either side. So let's just say if it was in the parts bin that's what was bolted on. Not much quality control those years. So who is to say, right, wrong,or maybe ? Another thing we did allot was rob Peter to pay Paul and swap parts from different cars to please the customers.
Just a thought.

Yeah, the more I look at trim packages the more they look different instead of the same ..my car is not going to be an auction car or anything like that but I would like to stay close to its original intent. ..
Let me ask you , did you guys(or could you) sell rear and nose spoilers as a dealer installed option ?

Dose any body know what front fenders are interchangeable with the 73 charger?
