New shop build out coming to life

I will not have a shop but will finish the Superbee in the next couple of years, then take a road trip so it will live in Oregon for the rest of my life!!

Agreed, do it while you can my wife would much rather be out that way in the redwoods. Beautiful area.

Finally got all I joist up, used the tractor and a pallet clamp to lift them as they were 75-100lbs work out better than I thought. 38 in total had them prepped and installed in day and half with the sons help. Total space is 1096sq .Still need to block them, shoot them down but hard part is done. Framed up the bathroom it will be full bath with linen cabinets.

Got the mezzanine all blocked in started laying sub floor down. Bought forks for the tractor works out perfect. This mezzanine has really been a lot of work but gives me more room then I need for now. Still a lot to do. But every weekend me and my kid work on it. Had the kid shooting all the plates on the I joict blocks.

You should be able to stack a little weight up there for sure. Slick! Good spot for a cargo lift.

It's rated for 1k lbs. The company is out of east Texas. We use it for all sorts of things. Most of the time it sits though. Got it mostly for gimped friends/relatives as the only way to the house is 18 steps up from ground level, otherwise gimps can't get in. It's not certified for people. They probably didn't want to get gaffed for the cert. One that is rated for handicap only takes 600lbs and cost more for just the unit than we paid for concrete, unit and handyman to help me put it together. Handicap one has a smaller basket too. The last task we used it for was Christmas decoration shuttling. We keep all of the decorations under the house in containers and move them when it's time for use. Have used it to bring one of my safes up.

My wife said it looks like they have an actual DIY instruction pack available now. Ours was very vague. It has up and down stop settings you can adjust, BUT!, I found on ours they didn't stay set. I would do the adjust, do a couple of up/down cycles, all is good. Do a few more and it changed. Readjust, same deal. So now I just keep the remote on me and watch for when it's time to stop. We did end up having to keep both remotes on us as sometimes the circuit board/switch unit inside would move making the buttons dead at an inopportune time. No big deal, just idiocincracies to deal with and remember. We are the only ones who operate it anyway.

Holy Hell that ought to be as stiff as the slab floor below it! Nice job!

Trimmed out lower half of shop now to dig out the steel that’s covered in snow Wish i knew it was going to snow so much would have removed it sooner. Built one stringer ( first time) so wanted to make sure it was correct. And under the stairs will be my air compressor enclosed for sound.

That’s a hell of a shop. There’s not enough flat land in Eastern, Ky to build one that big lol.

I hear ya, wish it was bigger but the wife was there when it was time to write the check . After that I leave her home LOL.

You have to get her more involved. I'll have to find some old pics with the wife shooting the transit and my son running the height stick, while I dug footings for my 50 x 100.

I tried, but the only way she helps me on it is i told her i will buy her some gym equipment for the other house when all the cars leave and go to navada.

Are you planning on paneling the entire interior to cover the foam, or have you heard any issues with building codes and needing to protect the foam from fire?

I am covering it up . I went today and prices went up 17 dollars in 1 week for 1 piece 4x8 . So I will keep eye for cheaper price for t-11 siding 8“ OC and will be stained and will slowly burn it to look rustic. No issues to cover it that I’ve heard.
