No Factory torque boxes...USCT front and rear Torque Boxes ordered, What else would you do?

I have put in several sets of the weld in frame connectors that follow the floor pans, and when installed correctly they are a nice sturdy upgrade to most any Mopar. But that said, I would, and will go with the Hotchkis bolt in ones on the V code Charger R / T. I don't want to do any mods that cannot be reversed to that car. I will get some pictures of the underside of that car too,the next time I am out there,it has no torque boxes as well.

I'm obviously not "there", in the NO non-reversible mods club, BUT I am sensitive to that issue. That and a host of other reasons is why I changed my mind that I thought was 100% dead set on either the GERST or RMS StreetLynx triangulated rear suspension system, and chose the Calvert split mono leaf springs etc, instead.
Also I just saw AMD has wider than stock inner wheelwells to replace the stock ones, allowing for a very close to stock appearance with a wider tire capacity. This is definitely a step up from the mini tub kit that has been around for years.
I'm excited about this because although I will NOT decide whether I want to get tires so wide that I need to enlarge the wheel tubs until I get the point where I actually NEED wider tires than fit now, OR I want tires wider than will fit...My reason?
B-Body Mopars are THE best body style that absolutely benefit from the added width.

I talked to my friend Gary, and asked him to talk to Mark at AMD, and see if he would consider making widened outer wheel wells for B body cars too. When I brought up the question Gary said he had to call Mark to get his 71 Ramcharger hood back that he loaned to AMD,so they could template it. Thanks to Gary, and Mark I was able to buy and install the new Ramcharger hood on my 71 Charger R/T project car. It's nice to see AMD starting to offer parts for people who want to modify their cars. The new inner wheelwells look good in the pictures that I saw in the Mopar Collector's Guide.

I was able to get Mark to make front valance pans for 70 Chargers by having Gary ask him about it, and offering to let him borrow my NOS front valance pan. So sometimes if he asks Mark, he will consider making the part.

That's where I just saw them. After a couple of 1 year subscriptions, I jumped on a 3 or 5 year offer (don't remember which it is), mainly because I wanted to have access to the electronic archives, which I have yet to access...
And I enjoy the magazine, and the publishers are "local" folks, good people!

Better get that paint stripped off around the sheetmetal VIN stampings so you can see where/if they were tacked in...LOL.
:drama:
Thank :lowdown:God some of you and some other research I did, as well as my own confidence albeit a little shaken at that moment, kept me from doing that. :realcrazy:

Saw this 67 gtx at a cruise, plate was welded to the outside of the firewall then smoothed out, two drops to the shock tower then down to the frame rail, looked very clean.

Thanks a LOT for the picture and description.
I noticed and posted about the only ONE other car I've seen in another thread that had the same basic thing done, and it happens to be one of THE nicest looking cars of all under the hood. I emphasize "under the hood" because KernDog's red car is a beauty too, and so is HEMI-ITIS's car, but his "inside the front fenderwells J bar and cut out inner fender" look isn't the look I want. I don't have a beautiful supercharger to distract the gaze upon my firewall...lol.:D
Look here:
Budnicks posted a lot of good info, but look how nice the copper color pic is under the hood!

Here's a couple of those pix in the above post of the plate welded on the firewall and painted, and J bar:

My good friend scared me when I saw these pix, because my fenders haven't had to come off, yet...
This is when I learned about J bars:
https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopa...-hangout-friends.197025/page-2#post-911607106
...and I know this is unfinished work in these pix, which makes it easier for me to understand what I'm seeing, and the car itself is beautiful, but these pix:

made me worry about the fenders having to come off (I've calmed down a lot) and I was wondering about options.
I'm pretty sure that the "through the firewall" install of the J bars ties into the "cage/interior" roll bars and also my understanding is that's preferred for strength.
I'll cross that bridge at the "current motor out, stroker ready to go in" point, and with the help I get here I believe I'll make the best choice for my applications.
THANKS!!

Heres what I did for my suspension. Hopefully it helps a bit.

Once anyone starts cutting or welding parts onto their "original " ___ code car ! I would have to say - who cares ? Guaranteed it's not so "original " @ that point , now it's a conversation piece , I'm surprised what I'm reading ! Right from the beginning, duh, where does this part go ? WOW - I changed this & ordered that , the guy fell in love w/ my car, can't wait to beat the crap out of It , waiting for the different tranny parts - really ? And what's w/ the GTO or kinda looks like 1, B Bodies - original , way more valuable, huh ?

It's ok...
Regardless of what gets changed, as long as the parts are high quality and installed properly, vs a crap hack and slash job, that "V" is always going to be in that VIN, and I guarantee that adds value.
If you doubt that, get a loan quote on a 383 VIN 70 Roadrunner and then a V-code, and that's just one example.
My car is definitely NOT going to appeal to a "factory correct/original" buyer or the same type of "spectator" but I think it adds intrinsic value.
When it comes down to the most important thing, what I'm doing and I have planned is adding value for ME, to MY (real V-code:poke::D )car!

Hey Bio....
Was it LAST year that Dennis met up with you for that "Cruisin the Coast" event?

YES! Great guy, really cool car. He is "very" conscientious about taking care of it. JMO-babies it a little too much, but then again it's his car and he needed it to get him and his wonderful wife WAYYY back to California...

I knew that he went, I was just trying to recall when it was. I remember some of his posts and yours about the event.

It's looking good for this year. A few logistical changes to minimize the intensity of volumes of people all being in one place for, say, picking up their registration packets, but overall I think it's going to be GREAT!
