Took a shot in the dark and bought an NOS A body fuel sender from @72redbird back before Christmas. He got it in a bulk deal and we both considered it "as is".

Price was certainly right at $35 to gamble and it cost him $18 US to ship it on top of that. Still good, then UPS F'd me for $38 in brokerage... still not a bad deal for a working NOS chrysler part.

Finally got it the other day and finally felt up to poking at it today. Gave it a quick whirl on the ohm meter and an eye opening 117 to 190ohms apppeared!! Rheostat a tad scratchy as well. Poked around on it to find the stud connection had 97 ohms resistance. CAREFULLY gave the wire eye a tweek back and forth with some vice grips and zero she went. Tore it apart, adjusted the rheostat arm and Bob's you uncle. 11.4 to 73 ohms she goes!

That's Awesome. I love seeing old stuff like this working again.

It pays to know a few things about electrical!

Moral to the story is don't just install something because it's "New". Check it out first...
I just cant figure out on how these aftermarket vendors can not get the values right. I gave up and went with a meter match. You can really dial in the accuracy through out the complete sweep of a gauge.
