Does anyone know anything or have any idea what caused these cuts / areas on my 1972 440 K member? It looks like they were intentionally done. Up until now I was somewhat convinced that the car had never been apart but now I'm not sure

I have sandblasted and powder coated 3 "B-body" K-members.
I have seen:
1. Terrible welding from factory
2. Grinding gouges
3. Excessive welding spatter
But never have I seen anything like that.
