An old Torker or Torker II with a well tuned 750 ish Holley will be very happy. Otherwise the CH4B.
Thank you! I’m not trying to keep it stock looking, I’m trying to keep it period correct. If that offy is the one with the divider the full length of the port, it is one of the two worst manifolds for a 440 ever, the other being the streetmaster.
For your application, IF you have the room under the hood for it, I would use the performer rpm, if you don't have the room, the regular performer would be my choice. If you have a CH4B, that would be an improvement over the offy (almost anything would be!).
As for keeping it stock looking, grind the manifold makers name off, and paint it engine color. It will "disappear".
I love the 800avs2 choice, I like the annular boosters.
#8009Not sure what Weinand you are looking at. They had a few interesting versions back in the day. I have no idea what the current version may be. The Carter AVS may be good. I just never had any luckaftermarket rebuilding them. I figured out how to do Holleys. The aftermarket Carter AFB I put on my tow vehicle was outstanding for at least 40K miles.
8008, if I’m not wrong it’s a recast of the action plus#8009
8008 is 383-400. 8009 is 413-440 yes recast of action plus8008, if I’m not wrong it’s a recast of the action plus

Offenhauser had some good parts, but then they have some strange things. But then again I guess every company does, the age of still figuring things out.I have an offy "dual port" on my shelf, never gonna use it; but it has the ports divided through the entire runner (horizontal divider)..... not sure why or how they got to that design

I had read somewhere the air/fuel running through one half of the port created a low pressure spot that sucked the mixture through the other half.......or some nonsense
Thanks! Do you happen to know when the performer came out? I know they came after the ch4b, and they’re a little easier to find.I built my car in the spirit of late 60s- 70s day 2, or street machine whatever you want to call it. I want to keep that look, these intakes were the direct connection suggestions which is why I wanted to use one, if it’s a better choice. It’s just a fun cruiser, not a race car yet. Any experience and advice is appreciated!
I re-read your original post. Period correct, day 2 look, better choice than Offy, fun cruiser, hood clearance, then my choice would be (and is, by the way) the Eddy Performer. Proven performance, period correct unlike the Performer RPM, it's a dual plane for real world drive ability and lower deck height for hood clearance.
I bought a used Performer for mine for the same reasons as your original post, it's an upgrade, dual plane, low deck, period correct for a stock motor and exhaust manifolds.
No, I don't know when they were introduced, but the were around when I was a kid, so they are "period correct." Maybe not "date correct' to your vehicle, but definitely period correct. Thanks! The intake looks just like the ch4b.
