Well after ALOT of asking and not knowing I finally made up my mind and ordered my slicks and rims today. Really SuperStockRacer did all the thinking for me. I asked what he had on his 63' since it was basically set up like my 65'

I went with the Hoosier 29x10.5Wx15 slicks and Weld Draglites 15x10 w/6.5" BS

So I would like to say Thank you SSR(Chris) for all the time and effort with this issue. Of coarse I think he just liked to show off his AWESOME cars.

Track is opening soon, oh boy I can't wait.

YOU KNOW I LOVE HELPING RACERS OUT.
ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT APPRECIATE IT.
I like to just share my knowledge with you guys.

I learned everything the hard way. There was nobody there to help me out. Trial and error.Beaking things, ordering wrong parts, I learned on my 65 dodge right in the beginning, when I got back into racing.
But it all started in 73 with my 70 440-6 Cuda. Buying Direct connection bolt on parts. Those were the days and very long nights when I was in High School..

My dad bought a 440-6 Cuda new in 69'. Told me the payments were $100 a month. He sold it in 72'. A few years back I past a photographers shop and a perfect Blue w/silver shaker was sitting in the lot. They were taking pictures of it. Later that week at a local cruz-in we talked to the guy who had it. I dad was floored because it was his. Come to find out the guy he sold it to in 72' didn't drive it long. He spun a bearing so he parked it under a tree and there it sat until this guy found it. Everything was there, he had the motor fixed and redid everything else. He was going to paint the shaker black but after he really thought about it he decided to keep it all original. He now has an all original numbers matching, super low milage 70' 440-6. I told my Dad we should have looked for it in 99' when we were looking for a car.

Get this; My dad still has the window sticker, plus a 67 GTX and 69 GTX. He liked his Plymouths

Hey SSR why the Cuda has a Kentucky (?) plate on it? I thought you were from NOOOOO YAWK... LOL

I got my slicks today. I thought they would be a little wider?

Is there a way to take off the white HOOSIER letters? I kind of like the all black look.

are the letters on both sides ? .... if not, just flip the tires around on the rims ...

Maybe it is because they are new. The white is super white. Chris yours look fine, maybe they need to be used a little. I figured they would get plenty wide.

That is only 2 of his cars. He!! I lost track after 3 65' Coronets,63' Savoy,69' Runner,70' Challenger and who knows what else.

The letters will yellow up after a few passes :) If you find you need something wider I have a near new set of 14.50 x 28 Hoosiers on 12x15" Weld Draglites for sale.

No these will work fine. No mini tub or shortened rearend here so those are way to wide to fit. NSS rules allow a 10.5W at the most

Keep the white letters, Thats the best part of them. I use Westleys bleach white on mine when they start to show age or yellowing.

I put them next to the car today. You are right those are going to look awesome on the Coronet.

With or Without the WHITE Letters?
Remember after the 1st burnout once you see smoke stop your burnout orelse those Hoosiers will be shot in 38-40 passes.

With the White letters. I did like the looks of them. Hope my rims come in tomorrow so I can get them on the car.

Thanks for the heads up on the burnout. I try not do killer burnouts because slicks aren't cheap.

Ohhhhh Noooo.... Now SSR's head will swell so big he'll get it stuck in one of his fish tanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I hated to post that but I have bugged him a lot about wheels/tires that fit for sure.

I was wondering how well the Hoosier slicks held air? I alway ran tubes in my M/T because they just don't hold air very well and I am lazy. I like to put air in and go. I don't mind checking the tire pressure every once in a while but I am not carrying around a tank to make sure the pressure is just right. I guess I am just not that serious. I get a kick out of the guys in the staging lanes checking/adjusting pressure all the time.
