Hi,
I just had a shop replace my original steering box with a Borgeson. Should I have them toss the old box or are these worth saving? Do these affect numbers matching?
There are some things that once they are gone, nobody will tool up to reproduce them.
I have stock steering boxes in most of my cars but I do have a Borgeson in one of them.
Numbers matching pertains to VIN, fender tag and the ID #s on the engine and transmission. The steering box has no VIN, just casting numbers.
It might matter to a buyer that the steering box isn't a factory one IF the car is looked at as an investment. One drive with the Borgeson in place should convince anyone that it is a superior product.
