COOL, Im glad to see someone else using Eastwood!! If they are speaking the truth, 40 years from now, these cars will still be solid and right!! Your making some good progress, keep on keepin on!!!

Lay your truck floor on the frame rails then take a paint marker and out line all the flanges then you can drill your holes for spot welds.

X 2 Yep thats the way and with yours being the black, A Sharpie silver marker will work good to do it, I don't know if they have a white one, that may even be better if the store carry's them Its a lot of drilling and welding but, you'll have a good job when your done!

These guys are right, marker works good! Spray can works well too, gives a silhouette/outline. Keep up the good work!

Hey no problem. That's a good idea on the notebook! I need to start doing that.

I also put 4 sheet metal screws in to hold the floor in place while doing this, then when I went to reinstal it I knew I put it back exactly where I had it.

thanks 69 i will add this to my trunk notes for future reference. do you remember what size screws you used to hold pan down with?

here is a few more pics of rear crossmember work i used my grinder and a rust and paint removal grinding disc to clean the area up and it did a great job right down to the shinning metal i used a etch primer on all the bare metal and then i came back with eastwood rust encapsulator and i will finish with a epoxy primer later.IMG_1288.jpgIMG_1290.jpgIMG_1292.jpg

I think I used #8s don't have to be that big because they're just for location and then easy to fill back in with the welder.

That looks great man, I have to paint my springs and differential while under the car (no room in shop) so im holding off with the trunk pans knowing it will be easier, i do hope mine will look this good, i have the Eastwood on it but no primer yet.. Very good job!!!

Thanks ron,i have a lot more to do in trunk area, just taking my time and planning each step out before i start to do anything and taking notes from you guys to help me along, ron i am sure yours will be even better than mine, i know you have done a lot of good work on your car as well, i see a lot good welding being done with good craftsmanship keep on rock and rolling,i know this is hard work but we are mopar men and we live to work on mopars,we are building these cars better than chrysler did back in the day.

I sure hope were doing better, ill settle for right though!! Thanks man, its guys like you who give me the inspiration to do something some nut left for dead, and im not going to let this one happen...

Your work is turning out great and i'll be working on mine this weekend. will be doing the same thing you are. etch primer, than the rust encapsulator. Following your work with interest.

i have a few more updates on frame rails, shows before and after pics of the two rear rails.IMG_1199.jpgIMG_1201.jpgIMG_0017.JPGIMG_0020.JPG these are grinded down to bare metal and then etch primed and then rust encapsulated and i will epoxy everything later.

Nice work on the car! Mine looked like that not too long ago, but in my case, I farmed out the work.

I certainly agree with doing as much as you cam to protect the hidden areas of the car while it is all apart now. Yes, no one will ever see it when it is done, but it will help preserve the car. Keep up the good work!

Hawk

I cant add to much bud and they do look good! Im sure someone years from now will be grateful you went the extra mile, and it may be you! Great effort on a lot of good work!!!

thanks hawk,i am trying to do a good job as best i can with all the stuff i have learned around here from you guys,i want to do things to help preserve the car, because some day someone else will have this car and i want to make it so i can enjoy it now and future owners can enjoy too, they probably will never know the little things that was done, but i will know.
