As a fellow fire fighter I have felt your pain of losing friends. A few years ago I lost a guy from my truck who was killed on his way into work one morning while riding his motorcycle. To make it worse, some of my other guys on our shift saw it happen and tried unsuccessfully to revive him at the scene.
It sucks, plain and simple. You just never know, and you never get over it. Our guys in the house were talking about it on shift yesterday, and believe me, we all said prayers for you and for the affected families.
When one firefighter is lost, it affects all of us, because we are one big family.
Thoughts and prayers for you, your brothers and sisters, and the surviving family members.
Sincerest condolences to the family and friends and best wishes for the survivors. My dad was a fireman ( volunteer). these guys risk their lives for people everyday.
