Prep and paint cost are as much as the hood

Wow is all I can say.. Thats pretty steep in price. $250 with prep work is what I was just quoted to spray a hood just as big if not a bigger.
125 hr for body work is at the top of the scale I would think. Thats more than most mechanical shops around here as well. I hope you got some oral sex with it and not just reamed. Having to use a flex additive shouldnt drive the price through the roof.

You guys need to look at this way......... "it's only money and you can't take it with you when you go". Go cut some lawns for extra cash to pay for the hood and all will be good. I agree with Donny on this one providing the shop does a great job. If the rest of you guys want to start a body shop biz have at her and you will see what the other shops are talking about. JMHO!

I agree, in the end I have to be happy with it and until I get the whole car is done and all the panels lined up I wont know how well the work is.

But looking at the pictures what do you guys think?

HMMMM
Some of you need to try doing this work, paint a few cars and youl see its not easy its not cheap and its hard work.
I for one dont work for free dont ask me too! :angry1:
If you come to me a for a paint job get ready! I aint cheap!
If you want cheap go see Earl or Maco and then redo it 6 months latter.
Or some guy who painted his buddys car

Actually I do and am doing and its top of the dollar scale for sure. If he is happy with the results thats what matters, but if you ask me for my opinion on the cost of it then thats what you get.

They could have 500-700 worth of paint and clear coat and primer and sealer into it if they used the best on the market so the labor cost then comes down .. and for a hood thats still a lot of money no matter how you look at it BUT if he is happy and the results are awesome then its good money spent , I suppose, if you can afford it.

paint jobs cost 5000-10000 for real decent ones and if you break that down per panel I guess it's right on par so i stand corrected... by myself..hahahahaha
