Procharged 440?

I have a GZ vac pump setup that I ran on my hemi if you decide to go that route.

If you're looking to part with it shoot me a pm with what you'll take. Haven't gotten that far into consideration yet but the GZ pumps sound like the goods

Joe,
Do you log IAT on both sides of the intercooler?
Hemi, We were logging IAT at the the throttle body.I didn't put a bung in to monitor IAT before the intercooler.
Thanks,Joe

Not that I'm going this route but out of curiousity only would this work? http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/sum-120108

It came up in convo between myself and 747Mopar as he said he's helped people weld these in

Hey Mike,Unfortunately this set up only works if you have straight headers. With full exhaust the back pressure causes lack of suction to evacuate the crankcase. This is the set up I had on my car when I blew out the dipstick.LOL

Joe,

What rad/fan package are you running? I'm likely going to have some clearance issues around mine

Hey Mike, Here is a picture of my cooling system with the 440 in the car. I have the BeCool duel fan Module (Spal Fans from BeCool).I had to push the radiator tight to the support and on the drivers side I ended up having to exchange for a smaller fan to get clearance for pulley system. With the Hemi I have a 1/4 inch clearance on the fans.I actually have to push the fan shrouds in to get belts on.

Hrmmmm.... the Roadrunner had the 22" rad not the 26" so I have a Wizard Rad with upgraded 1.25" cores and the 4 - 9" spal fan package. Thought it was the **** until now I see how tight it's going to leave me! lol

I think my first logical step will be to call Wizard and see if there's a different low profile fan setup we can make work. Not sure if there's a way to stagger 2 low profile 11's instead of the 4-9's.

Other option is modifying the cradle to move the rad but that's something I'd rather not explore.

Got my Intercooler ordered up and now I have a 10% discount code for CX Racing if anyone else can use it? Furry Frog? Zach? Let me know and I'll post it.

Also ordered a 6 pak hood this week to give myself some room up top.

BTW looks like I have the 80 and the 34 Pulleys so should be all set there. (although I have been considering cogs even though I know serp is better for the street) Still need to make some kind of tensioner but I've got the one off the Fox Body to deconstruct and modify.

Talk about an out of control snowball....... Change one this and the list never stops!!! Gotta pay to play as they say and I'm sure that kind of power gain will make it worth the effort in the end.

Exactly Dev. Had I known what I was really getting into I probably wouldn't have opened this can of worms. It's completely non-stop and I really hope it's worth all the trouble and money at the end.

That's the problem with big horsepower builds. Pretty soon everything to did to get to 500 to 1000 is invalid. A 1500 horse setup and a 1000 have little in common. A 500 and a 1000 have nothing in common. It's a huge snowball

I purchased my intercooler from cx racing as well, too bad as I may have a 10% off code written down somewhere too. I see you have a drivers side rad hose, Is that in the way of the bracketry for your supercharger as well? Just a thought, if you pull the shroud off and have the fans directly on your rad, would that give you enough clearence? Not as effiecient but? I guess your waiting for your pulleys to mock it up and see how its going to work out, and how much space you need? Good luck, It can take a lot of headscratching sometimes.

Mike, I would scratch the the thought of the cog pulleys and belt. The cog is much wider than the rib belts. It will make space even more complicated.

I have some 12 rib pulleys here I can start using for mockup and see what I can squeeze through. The crank pulley I have is V Grooved at both front and back and I'm thinking as it is likely the back that will get used it would be nice to not have the V belt groove at the front... might buy me a few mm

Not sure if getting rid of the shroud would give me much extra. I think it's just the number of fans I have that are the issue. Also should consider this rad was ordered and built for a big stroker but is it enough to do the job with the higher hp?

Not aware yet if the clearance I need will be more for the pulley itself or the path of the belt. It's hard to imagine until the Procharger itself is mounted up there

Thanks as always Joe. Noted!

Mike, In looking at your pics above to me it looks like your fan shroud is removable? If so it seems to me that you could take about a 1/2 inch or 12.7mm out of the shroud without causing any problems other than rewelding the shroud brackets. Also I was looking at my pulleys and belts this morning and the crank pulley is about 12mm past the the water pump pulley. All the other pulleys and belts do not go past the water pump pulley even with a 12 rib.Hope this helps
Also Mike there is a company here in Colorado Springs that sells intercooler piping and silicone couplers that is really affordable www.siliconeintakes.com
They ship USPS so shipping affordable as well.I recommend ordering your piping from them.Unless of course there is a good source in Canada for you guys.

Hey Joe,

12mm past the edge of the waterpump pulley or the bolts? If it's the pulley itself then I should have some wiggle room.

With the 440 in your car was the crank belt on the rear or front v belt groove of your 12 rib pulley?

My shroud is removable and about an inch thick so if I have to reduce or remove the shroud I can make a bit of room there for sure. Also thanks for the siliconeintakes link I'm pretty sure we have a place we go but I'll check them out anyways before I get to that point.

Thanks again Joe!
