Procharged 440?

We've been 5.40's at 137 in the 1/8th mile on our 6th pass with the F2 427 SBF and we still have converter issues to sort out. Haven't even started to tune it. It'll go high 4's before it's all said and done. The F2 is a great race blower. Having said that, I wouldn't put an F2 on my worst enemies street car if it's one that he plans on putting any real miles on at all. If all you want to do is be badass at the local cruise in, by all means, order up an F series. If you really want to drive and enjoy the car, stick with what you have.

I'm totally happy to stick with what I have. I was echoing what you were saying about everyone with a Streetcar thinking they "need" an F2 on a Big Block.

Would love to see vids of that SBF I think I've actually seen a few posts about it on the C&S Website

Yeah, that's the one. Roger has been coming up for all the races. Him and Chase are great guys!

My Snow water/meth system arrived last night. After seeing the size of the carb spacer I'm damn sure now the stock hood won't be going on the car but I guess I half expected that anyways.... (Maybe it's called Snow because now my project will Snowball that much further?)

I went with the 210 Boost Cooling kit and added the high pressure pump and carb spacer. The 210 comes with the newest controller "New for 2015, the Stage 2 introduces the VC-50 Controller. The VC-50 offers the functionality of a boost gauge and water-methanol controller all in one! Highlighting a 7 color (Blue, White, Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Green) OLED screen displaying boost, percentage of injection, low level, secondary nozzle activation, prime button, and 2 fault codes directly on the screen. Also new, the VC-50 has the ability to progressively command 2 adjustable stages of water-methanol for maximum cooling and HP results. "

Hey Mike, if it works out that your charge pipes will fit under the stock hood before adding the spacer you can spray the water/meth through the carb hat instead of the plate that,s how I spray mine. When I had the 440 in my charger everything fit under the hood with about 1/2 inch of clearance. With the Hemi no such luck.Do you have a bypass valve? I can't remember. I just finished building my charge pipes and I changed to a turbo smart bypass valve. If you need one I have an extra one.

Sounds like we need to see some pics of your charge pipes! The RR does have a bit more room under the hood than a Charger so maybe I will get in luck? I'll look closer to at your suggestion of spraying through the carb hat.

I don't have a bypass valve but I do have the small BOV in the pic below (Was thinking of buying a Big Red but curious what you're using?). Let me know what you have either here or by Email. How are things going with the EFI?

Nice, when your up and running It would be nice to hear what you think about the VC-50. I will be using the VC-20. On my turbo setup, I have no room for a carb spacer either, took some work to make the stock roadrunner hood fit, I shaved the base of the carb hat at an angle to tip it down, and zip cut a little off of the hood frame in a couple spots. The hat will not fit clocked straight so I have it sitting at about 5 oclock. I welded in 2, 1/8 npt bungs for my water injection nozles, 1 just after the intercooler, and 1 just before the carb hat.Looked into it and it is quite common to install the nozzles before the carb. Have yet to test it out but getting close.

You really need to get a build thread up and running and make sure it's in this section! lol I'd love to see pics of what you did with the water injection and I may end up doing something similar. Although I'd like to test fitment first and just see if I can make the carb spacer work. Like yourself I'll also be running both an IC and the Water/Meth.

Just about to start the cam shopping today which should be relatively east since I have Joe's Cam Card.

I'm really torn on the snowball factor of whether or not everything fits under hood... I do like the look of my AG hood especially with my custom callouts but I've always love the 6 pak hood too or would even debate doing something custom to give the car more attitude.. what I hate to get into is paint work on the top of the fenders and cowl to get rid of the stripes if I change the hood.

Hey Mike,Here are some pics of the the charge pipe and my car in the driveway at my house. You can see the BOV that I changed to in the pic of the pipes on my welding table. The bends are a little tight on the supercharger side but that was about all I could do. I didn't design the car to have an intercooler so I had to work with what space that was left. The extra bov that I have is the same one you have. I think you can fit everything under the hood you might be able to get the spacer in there as well. With work and building my friends 70 charger on the weekends I haven't had a lot of time. But I am almost done changing all the problems that I had from the first dyno session with the new fuel injection.I drove the car last night for the first time since July. The tune isn't correct but she,s still so f#*king fast. Thanks Joe

Here is a pic of the non intercooled Hemi and a pic of when I was building the car with the 440

You must have gained a few inches with the EFI too??

I have a different carb hat than you so mine might be slightly taller. I guess I'll just cross that bridge when I get there

Joe,
What's the combo on the all aluminum hemi?

Hey Hemirunner, It's a 496 CID rotating assembly, world block,Ported StageV SR heads,1.6 T & D shaft rockers , Comp cam spec for the supercharger,F1A procharger, 9.1/1 compression with the fast XFI Sprotsman throttle body injection. Thanks,Joe

The throttle body is the same dimension as the carb was.
I hope it goes smooth for you when you add the boost this winter.
Any questions with it I am always willing to help. Thanks,Joe

Just letting you know I'm still alive here, but never been poorer... I forgot that the alterktion uses ford spindles which means that the recent disc brake conversion won't fit. Oh well, it was on the car when I bought it so no money down the drain but those massive 6 pot baer brakes sure cost a lot. If you want anything - I'll be in my garage swearing...

And yes. If anyone can fedex a rubber grommet between the hose from the vacuum pump to the brake booster - I'd buy you dinner.

Just a quick picture so you won't forget about me lol

I was curious if you were making some progress! And don't worry broker is contagious I think we're all suffering that fate!! (somehow these cars keep us this way!)

I didn't know Alterktion used Ford spindles I guess that's something new for me to learn today. Do you know a good fabricator that could make your brakes work?

Also broke
Also still have my procharger looking sad sitting on the shelf
Also still plugging along
One of these days we'll have some pretty badass cars
haha

I'm also missing the crank pulley for my setup, of anyone has some 8 rib pulley sets laying around please let me know! Looking to run somewhere around 8 psi with my P1SC

I have 12 rib stuff left.But no 8 rib.

Nope. No fabricator.
Yea RMS uses Mustang II spindles (im not good at reading instructions before digging in....)

And nothing has happened with the edelbrock efi either so going flexifuel with a GM sensor still going to be a challenge...pausing the work and leaving for sunny central Florida next week if anyone want to meet up :)

Might be able to swing that, how thick are the pulleys? And would you happen to have the right sizes to land around 8 psi?

Speedfreek.I will need to look,I will take pics tonight for you after work and post what I have.Hopefully I have some stuff you can use.
Thanks,Joe

Mr. Speedfreak, Here are the 12 rib pulleys.I have a 3.7 supercharger pulley, idler pulley and 8'' crankshaft pulley. The crankshaft pulley has a v belt groove in the front and the rear.I also have a bypass valve.
This set would put you right around 7 psi with a 440 I believe with the P1SC. The 12 rib pulleys are about 2'' thick on the belt surface.
If you have any interest in these pulleys,or the bypass valve send me a PM.
Thanks,Joe
