Radiator Stop Leak Additive

Those pellets remind me of some sort of dog treat...lol. No one I spoke to has mentioned possible damage to pump running a pure water flush; but good to know if this is an issue. And I got two totally different slants on coolant: one says use the red it's less corrosive than green, other says use green less corrosive than red! Hurt's my head...

I think purplebeeper did a coolant crash course on this forum somewhere awhile back. He is a chemical engineer and his teaching was pretty good.

Having said that, I use ORielly conventional green 50% with RO water. Change it every year.

Daily drivers get Peak 'global' as it claims compatible with every color on the planet.

Wow Billccm, you must have the cleanest cooling system on the planet with annual change out. I did some research and from what I found the red and green coolants are pretty much the same except red is more durable with longer lasting corrosion inhibitors and longer span before recommended changing (5 years vs 2 to 3 for the green). In any case it's never recommended to switch coolant types unless a thorough flushing is done and a few say never do it as you can't get all the old coolant out of a motor unless rebuilt. Something to do with accelerating corrosion or compromising it. Who knows what's urban legend or fact. To my earlier matter, my cooling system resembles a septic tank with the additive in it...

Well, I do not flush every year. Just a drain and refill. It's is cheap insurance. My daily drivers get a drain and refill every two years.

If I were you I'd do the Cascade flush. Maybe even twice.

maybe I can toss the dirty dishes in the with the flush...my better half would like that...lol.
