Restomod charger pics

LMAO, that's hilarious 61 "you guys are to much". Well the front is off the donor and test fitted to the other "I'll post some pics tomorrow after I get it prepped and installed". The important thing is the hard work is done (drilling all of those damn spot welds out) and now I can call him and get one out of the garage. I swear the guy running the welder on that car was drunk (all over the place) but it went pretty smooth anyways. I'll have to finish a wood working project for my wife as well but should be back to the Charger before the end of the weekend.

Damn, must have been an end of the day "let's get the hell out of here" Friday car haha

Just got a I Pad today so I should be able to get better pics and videos for you guys. This thing takes great pics.:headbang: Sorry to bore you guys with wheels again but I really need to decide, what do you think of the new ones "Boyds-Perfected" (bottom pic) really really digging these ones but haven't been able to get a quote yet. These are the three that's down to "for now". That's right 67, sorry Kahn "no Torque thrust hear haha.View attachment 164771VN427580XX_american_racing_hot_rod_gray_vn427_shelby_cobra.jpgpaintedperfected.jpg

No wonder you got it down to 3 - 747Mopar . . . those are 3 good looking wheels ! !

I've always liked the spinners . . . but they all look great ! !

You've got a tough decision ahead of you . . . wanna borrow my dart board ? ? ? ( smile )

Here's the ones I was looking at for my Shoe Box:

I like the ones on this car the best .. and think about cleaning brake dust too. This one is a cleaner design and will be easier to clean

Brakedust? Brakes are for quitters.

Here's the progress, had a little surprise (someone torched the shock mount for header clearance). I got it all welded back in and got the front end back on but since he never brung the doors and fenders I wasn't able to weld it all up. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Sorry, guys that was my first attempt with my new I pad, they are right side up before posting "I swear".

Allrighty, got some prices "no Boyd wheels for me" 975.00 ea for 19X10's holy $hit. Barry's Speed Shop (the magnum 5's from wrecks to riches) on the other hand had decent prices if you want to call it that, $2,000 for the set. So it's the Ramblers at around $2,500 a set, magnum5's at $2,000 a set and another set I saw on they're sight for the same price.supergtnew.jpgmag5new.jpgUS_Rambler_Gunmetal_500.jpg

I really like the Magnum 5's but that pic with zero lip really doesn't do it any justice, I think I like them because they scream Mopar with the Magnum design but still liking the Ramblers. You watch, when it comes time to buy I won't be able to afford any of them and will be running hubcaps haha "wouldn't surprise me".

That's definitely steep in the price department. The only thing I don't like about the Magnum 5's is the button detail around the lip...

My rims & rubber came to under $2100 installed & balanced... not 19's mind you but still!

Let me help you out with this - don't want anyone getting hurt trying to stand on their heads to view the pictures ! ! ! ( smile )

As for the pictures on your I-pad . . .

First - I'm sure they were correct when you viewed them - can you do an experiment for me ?

Take a picture with your I-pad - just like you did last time.
Then take a second picture ( something else ) with the I-pad turned completely over ( what was top is now the bottom )

My guess - both, to you, will look correct. When you post them to the site, one will be correct, and the other upside down.

Can you give it a try and post your results ? ?

I'll just take it out of the case turn it over and reinstall it, seeing how this thing flips the screen for you you would never no which way was up. I'll give it a shot 67. You didn't say which one you liked??

if i had to make a choice, the mag 5 ,thats all this OLD PRE SCHOOL MOPAR NUT has to say about that. :)

I'd vote for the US MAGS as well... Funny how much time is spent going back and forth on the wheels we pick. I can remember the same ordeal on mine as well as several as the other guys on here. $2500 bucks...wow. Man, you can buy a decent A-Body project for that.

Speaking of A-Bodies, progress looks good on the one in your shop. Pretty substantial difference in the reinforcement and tie in's around the shock tower. I'd say that A-Body has half the amount of weld up around the tower vs. a B-Body. Like the A-Bodies, had a few, but sure not as stout as a B-Body.

Your definitely right about that, the inner fenders on these A bodies are just thin sheet metal like any other body panel and don't tie in nearly as well. I'll take the B body any day for myself but if working on someone else's I'll take the A body "less welds = less work" haha. All in all aside from the inner fenders and shock towers I don't see to much difference in the A bodies.

Choosing wheels has been hell to put it lightly. On one hand you have a bunch of nice wheels (cast) that you "like" for a bargain price (usually around $200.00 ea) but have to sacrifice diameter (many don't offer 19"s), optimum backspacing (most are 4.5) and have to give up a little width as well. Then there's the custom wheels that I "love" where you can get just about anything you want but the prices start at $2,000 a set ($500.00 ea). Another thing to keep in mind is cast wheels can go to **** with corrosion and pitting where the billet wheels will likely last forever. I've done my homework and Kenny Wayne Sheppards Xtreme Lee is exactly the look I want (18-19 stagger) but then again there are the Speedies, Goons and others here that have the 17-18 stagger or 18s that look great as well so I haven't got a clue. I'll keep looking for the magic wheel, still hoping for something I really like "cheaper". I keep thinking the same thing "$2500 bucks...wow. Man, you can buy a decent A-Body project for that.[/" I paid $3,500 for the whole car for crying out loud but then again compared to what I have in it it's just a drop in the bucket "alright now I'm crying".

Mine are 17" front and rear. I wish I would have done staggered with 18" rears. Still happy because of the extra lip I get with the wider rim and the stance but I think a Staggered look just adds the finishing touch.

Keep your eyes peeled maybe you'll find something that went on a car or someone bought and changed their mind and pick it up for a steel! Hell your car is baddass enough It's a shame you couldn't get a local tire shop to sponsor you in a way

Hey 747Mopar . . . Yeah, you might be able to get an A-body for that price,

but will they fit in the wheel wells and I really doubt that they'll roll very well ! !

( snicker, snicker )

Here's where we're at with the decal for the rump stripe "not done but close". The background will likely be different (more yellowish) but like I said we're still working on it. new colors with circle to size.jpg
