Road Trip With An Electric Vehicle. Didn't See This Coming.

As a Ford truck fan I loved the story.
The owner drank the coolaid, that’s an awful expensive mistake. That’s a pricey grocery getter.

I believe that electric cars have their place. They are prefect fit for big cities with smog problems. The problem is that the powers that be want complete replacement of ICE vehicles and are willing to force them onto everyone. They will go as far as to outlaw all ICE vehicles, including our classic cars.

Rush was very good at predicting things that may happen in the future! Neil Peart was the guy who took the band in the futuristic direction.

I agree, if you like/want/need one, then get one. Don't force them on the majority of consumers that want nothing to do with them. It's too bad that the automakers are caving into going full EVtard as well.

Thanks Randy, love that song.
It has a whole different feeling about it these days, eh?

You mean they HAVE gone as far. The laws are in the books in some states.

Globalist WEF guy reads story: "hahaha, working as intended."
The push for all of this green stuff is control, not emissions.
They want to tell you what to eat, when and where you can travel, where and what you live in, when you can die.

It is too hard to control where people go in the current network of ICE vehicle transportation, plus people can rig things up at home or use vehicles that don;t have GPS trackers in them etc.
The next couple years we will see cars with cameras, microphones, alcohol sensors, and bluetooth and sat. antenna to report it all out, and allow AI to decide if it should pull your car over and alert authorities on you.

Some serious BS is already signed into law and it IS COMING, doubters and apologists be damned it is in the LAWS now.
People will have to stand up or everything we love about car culture will be illegal in the next 5-10 years. And for no good reason, for no other reason, than some multi-billionaires want more money and power over us.

This is a FACT! Time to wake up people!

But the dumb-o-sheep will still listen to the dumb-o-crats. It's even more hilarious when you get the dumb-o-sheep here on car enthusiast sites spouting all that crap.

I have relatives in NYC...... they would like to know how people living on the 12th floor of a building will charge their EVs.....

will they be running extension cords? will the extension cords disappear?

I didn't even get into the gauge wire and distance thing

They'll suck down their employers' profit margins by plugging in at work, and sucking power that way.

I say, if you're going to "save the world" by driving an EV, do it all the way. You can ONLY charge it with solar, or wind. PERIOD.

Good luck.

Maybe put one of these on the roof:

As you drive, it could be constantly-charging the battery. Hmmm......

I like the puzzled looks the owners give when you break the bad news to them that additional coal and natural gas has to be burned in order to charge their car.

I commute often between the Arizona desert and California. I very rarely see a tesla in az, I've seen a total of one traveling the desert on Interstate 40. But I've been in my ultra liberal college town in socal now for about two days, and I've seen a hundred teslas.
Does college educated ultra liberal equal stupid?

Living in the shadow of a large university for most of my life, it seems that way. Ten miles out of town, common sense starts to prevail.

The problem with them being city cars is where to plug them in. Run thousands of extension cords across the sidewalk, dig up the streets and sidewalks and plant charging stations, or find a huge parking lot somewhere to put up an electric sub-station to power charging stations in the lot.
