Back to working on interior. I used this diamond plate material on the console, and will be adding some to the door panels.
One door panel done, I like the diamond plate inlay, looks like a 60’s car.
Have been improving the methods for making the inserts look right which is a good thing, except for now I have to do the first one over.
The seats are gonna need a little work

Cleaned up the frames with wire brush and muratic acid solution, then coated with Ospho and a good enamel with hardener added. There is a latch on the bottom corners of the upper frame that does not look like it attaches to anything. I must be missing something.
The back seat is not the right pattern, so I am making the inserts according to a picture from the net.
Back seat coming together, a lot of work for something that probably will never be sat on.

I used three layers of Harbor Freight moving blankets sewed together on top of the springs, and put 1/2” foam on the back of the seat inserts. After the emblem went on, put 1/4” foam on the center section. This is the backrest.
I think I set the emblem too high but it is too late to move it, so went ahead and stretched it over the frame.
Only about 50 years too late to nail a high school chick back here, unless of course she went to high school with me.
Well these two rascals are next. I drove the car 800 miles on these with blankets wrapped around them.

Hopefully when you go to the lake to watch the "Submarine Races", you're flexible enough for back seat action.
So this is it, the last of the rusty parts that need to be cleaned up and painted on this project. The molasses tank will take too long so tomorrow I will rig up something to dunk these in evaporust.
