Cleaned up the frames with wire brush and muratic acid solution, then coated with Ospho and a good enamel with hardener added. There is a latch on the bottom corners of the upper frame that does not look like it attaches to anything. I must be missing something.
I used three layers of Harbor Freight moving blankets sewed together on top of the springs, and put 1/2” foam on the back of the seat inserts. After the emblem went on, put 1/4” foam on the center section. This is the backrest.
So this is it, the last of the rusty parts that need to be cleaned up and painted on this project. The molasses tank will take too long so tomorrow I will rig up something to dunk these in evaporust.
