Route 66 trip

Well, the last couple of days have been sightseeing in some national parks.

Very difficult to get cellular service.
And the driving up and down hills accompanied by seemingly never ending twisting and winding mountainous roads?
That took some getting used to - in fact, I’m still not used to it LOL.
A diesel with an engine brake would be handy.

So, to pick up where we left off here with you guys…

Sunday, day 9:

We visited King’s River Canyon in the Sequoia National Forest…

No, it’s a gas powered RV unit. We pull the car off the dolly and use that as much as we can to navigate the hills, twists and curves.
Driving the RV in that environment, I manual shift it to help maintain the slower speed and preserve the brakes.

Did you get ab RV GPS or a trucker road Atlas?
No, we did not. But we do have physical maps we have gotten from various visitor centers that help keep us on paths that are more catered to our traveling setup.

Here’s another.
This was the one of the largest, if not THE largest we saw.
Pictures do it no justice…

Yesterday, day 10:

We went to Yosemite National Park.
Since we’ve toured by helicopter, train, RV, car and by foot on our journey so far…
We decided to tour Yosemite via…

Here’s a short video clip I have been trying to upload here on FBBO today.
It gives some more perspective on the size of those trees.
Finally sitting down to eat where I have some good cellular reception…

Thanks, but next time, hold your camera horizontally to get a better picture view.

Mama and I will exit the RV on Saturday 8/24 and hop on a plane back to NY.
Our friends will spend the following week touring the country back home in the RV.
Well played!

This one’s just for you @Richard Cranium.
Hope it’s recorded the way you like it LOL.:poke:

Late last night we made it to Crescent City to spend the day in Redwood Forest.

And Jellyfish?

Staying one more night in the Redwood Forest tonight.
Heading out early tomorrow morning for Crater Lake, Oregon.
About 3 1/2 hours to get there.
That will be our last stop before we head home early Saturday morning.
Gonna miss doing week 3 with our friends in the RV.
It’s been a journey of a lifetime.
And we’re grateful we all got to do this together.

What a beautiful country we have I must say.
But no place like home IMO.
We miss our kids and our granddaughter.
Looking forward to getting back home to see them.

Hoping to report back again soon to you all.
Stay tuned…
