Day 5:
We started out the day with a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

Here’s about a 15 second clip of entering airspace over the canyon.
Please forgive the reflection you may see in the windows.

We then made a trek about 3 hours away from our RV site to the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.

We didn’t quite make it to where we wanted to there, but we still got some great views by the time we decided to turn around and head back.

Here’s a few pics of the view there…

Here’s mama hanging out the window (at slow speed of course) to get some pics.

A little wildlife we don’t see back home in NY…

Another video approximately a minute long that mama got while we were on the road today…

Wow, you folks are doing it up in style aren't you?
Bonus: Having a stunt photographer for a wife. :)
What vehicle are you buzzing around in while taking all these amazing pictures?
I must have missed it in the posts...

Mama has an ‘09 G6 she uses for her DD.
You can see it in post #73.
It’s light and easiest on gas so we voted it the best amongst our vehicles as a tow-behind.

Rt.66 is a great start to see the rest of the country. Catch all the east /west major highways to see a lot of our beautiful country. Then take the major north/south highways ( more difficult). We now take the side roads to see beautiful areas. City of Rocks in Idaho, T. Roosevelt Nat'l Park in North Dakota, Saguaro Nat'l Park near Tucson, the Everglades in Florida and so on. There's always more to see.

I confess I had to go look up what a "G6" was.... :)

Day 6:
We’re still in the Grand Canyon.
Going to see it train style this morning…

The conductor getting ready LOL. He was kind enough to give us an “in action” pose for this photo.

IMG_9144.jpeg

And a little entertainment while we wait for our train…

Long day on the train.
About 2 1/2 hours driving to the destination sight seeing spot.
We got to walk the south rim of the canyon for a few hours and then sit down for a meal before the 2 1/2 hour ride back.
The train ride was fantastic with great views and on-board entertainment, including a staged robbery by some outlaw Cowboys.
The hostess was absolutely phenomenal as well.

Spectacular views from a pedestrian perspective.

I told mama she could think about it, but doooon’t do it.
But here she is thinking about it LOL.

So I gave her a little taste of it right back.

She eventually had to come talk me off the ledge…

IMG_1203.jpeg

All kidding aside, we had a great time there together.

Here’s the view from the window in the restaurant we ate at today…

Tomorrow we’re hoping to be up bright and early, heading to Zion National Park in Utah.

Oops, forgot to throw in a few pics of us inside the train today.
Here you go…
