Scotch whiskey: Do you imbibe?

After inspecting the label I was surprised to see that it was made in India.
One of the last countries I would have suspected of making a fine whisky :)
All this talk of booze is making me thirsty......might have to indulge myself, and hope I don't get any call-outs tonight...lol

I have nightmares about drinking a good glass of scotch and than realizing somebody put ice cubes in it.

I'd have to add about 2/3-3/4 coke, to even drink scotch. I don't consume alcohol anymore, anyways. Loved some bourbon though.

Always heard fine scotch was the best of all spirits. Wouldn't know. I drank a bottle johnny walker black one night and never touched scotch again. Lol I do love me some Gentleman Jack on the rocks though. Or some topshelf Irish whiskey. Tullamore Dew is good stuff.
Difficult to drink without a soft pack of Marlboro reds though, and I quit smoking years ago.

I just got back from isle of Skye in Scotland and came back with talisker port ruigh and jura superstition single malts. The jura is half peaty, not full on islay like laphroaig. Currently drinking the jura and knob creek 100 proof rye, my favorite stateside whisky.

I do imbibe - but when I do it's a very good blend of sparkling water. I prefer Arrowhead.....

Wine is fine, but whiskeys quicker.

For American whiskey, I've tried a few but still prefer Gentleman Jack or Woodford Reserve.
For Irish Whiskey haven't tried very many but from what I have tried I prefer the Tullamore Dew.
Whiskey no matter where it's origin should only be drank either on the rocks or straight from the bottle.

Scotchs, I'm not quite that refined yet, when I was young I drank bottle of Black label Johnny Walker in about 3 hrs and got blackout drunk and woke up the next day in my front yard with a lump on my head. Never tried Scotch again.

should give it another try . try a bottle of chivas regal and sip it like you do with the jack ,instead of downing the bottle in 3 hours

I have tried to drink booze several times. I'm just not very good at it.
Beer? I cannot stand the taste of it. I like sweet drinks like some sort of fag or something.
Whiskey? I've also tried this, a few types but the burn gets in the way of enjoying any flavor. I love hot food so it isn't that I dislike a spicy or hot taste.
Wine? I absolutely LOVE the smell of most wine. Somehow that smell isn't enough to help me enjoy the taste of it. Same story with coffee. Smells great, cannot stand the taste unless it is mixed with other stuff.
I can drink the Hard Lemonades, various mixed drinks but I don't drink much.

so carrying on from that, who mixes ? common fess up
I'll be the first to admit that apart from special occasions I like my scotch "mixed",coke here .
had a mate that used to get a schooner with a double measure of the raspberry syrup that they make the raspberry lemonade with it
toped up with a shot from every bottle on the top shelf and then lemonade (rocket fuel)
""
"schooner" refers to a glass of 425 mL (15 imp. fl. oz., or three-quarters of an imperial pint, pre-metrication). It is the most common size in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, although not unknown in other states.""

Heathen. :p

The ONLY thing that should be mixed with Scotch is water from the same source the Distillery used to produce the Whiskey in the first place!

Neat is best.

If the burn is too much...try an older bottle.
I have had 30y/o Scotch, and it just dances down your throat in the most joyous fashion.

IF you still wish to find the will to swill. Try perhaps a honey whiskey. Crown Royal and Jack Daniels both make a good kind. Or a cinnamon whiskey.
Both these varietit's do a good job of covering the whiskeys bite.
There are also shots that a good bartender can make, such as a Washington Apple or Apple Jack.

I may take you up on that offer. I feel as though I'm missing out.

I not to much into scotch, just wiskey.....and all of it//////
