Scotch whiskey: Do you imbibe?

The last few years I've taken a liking to the Island of Islay. In fact I just cracked Ardbeg's ARDBOG, a very smokey delectable. Just trying it out in anticipation of the monthly scotch tasting I do with 5 other buddies where we imbibe and smoke cigars out of purview of the estrogen crowd. Anyone else here a fan of the Islay?

One of my FAVs

Last year I was looking on line to see if whiskey ages in the bottle and surprisingly, to me, it does not.

That is the biggest difference between Whiskey and Wine - whiskey ceases to age as soon as it leaves the cask, while wine continues to age in the bottle.

What we are drinking at my house right now. Mostly Islay but the Craigeleaghie was pretty cheap on our cruise last Jan with a $50 credit to use. Not pictured is a bottle of Bunnahabhain my wife got in the Ramstein AF Base at the British/Canadian PX. I just got back last night from Frankfurt. We enjoyed the Bunnahabhain while I was there and brought a little home with me. She has the rest to finish : (
Lisa has one more month at Landstuhl Post before she heads home.
The Lagavulin Double Mature is a welcome home surprise. Not pictured is at least one bottle of Laphroaig we polished off.

Cheers to you! Fine collection of heavily peated Scotches, you are to be commended. :)

When I do stray from cheap Vodka (distilled locally in San Jose or Fairfield) Mr Kessler is a very smooth fellow.

Ketel One, is that Sonny? When I splurge, it's usually Titos. Have to try Ketel.

maybe ski can help me out on a bottle

Sorry, I'm going sideways here, no scotch tonight just a good ole fashioned bottle of moonshine. After Friday's night game, seemed to be the right choice! Got the job done quick!

A friend of my son dropped off a bottle of whisky for me to try, I found it remarkably smooth and tasty. After inspecting the label I was surprised to see that it was made in India.
