The Angels get more than the rest of us.
I belong to a whiskey tasting club. We meet once a month, pay dues , and taste some top shelf stuff. We have been on a Glen roll lately it seems. I am not a fan of the bold peated spirits but it's fun to try ones I would never buy myself.
I have been through the Glengoyne distillery in outer Glasgow. A great tour with a healthy wee dram afterwards.
Bought some limited run bottles....it is the family distillery after all.

macallan about $100 a bottle here! I give it to friends because I don't drink straight booze! Gibson/pepsi for me, if it was $100 a bottle I'd sip it!
Never, ever put ice into Scotch Whisky ….if you need to chill it, use something like these Whisky Stones...
The only thing that should be added to genuine Scotch Whisky is a little water, taken from the same creek from where the Distillery gets it's supply.
There are many Scottish distilleries with "Glen" preceeding. Glen means valley or ravine in Scottish and where there is a valley, there is a stream to provide the distillery with water. There are a bunch of scotch brands that have glen in the name that are not peated.

I like the Highlands single malts best. Not a big peat fan. Crazy procedure and history of the peated malt.

While it might be frowned upon, I’ll use an ice cube or 2 if I’m sipping...say, Laphroig Cask strength, or any other heavily peated cask strength Scotch. Just my taste.

Had an appreciative customer send me this last Fall... Just over $300 a bottle in Ontario for less than 26 ounces. Being the appreciative guy I am I tried to return it the liquor store to buy something drinkable, but the SKU didn't work as he bought it in Kabek !

Well, what a WONDERFUL thread. I have been known to have a Weeeeee Dram my own self. Here are some pics you Single Malt fans might like. Then, perhaps something that we learned while "on tour". We then went to Ardbeg for a tour and sample. The above card at Laphroaig was from a private tasting for My son and I. They allowed us to uncork the three above casks, sample, mix or make what we wanted. A great experience. We also went to Bowmore, but unfortunately, wife and kids mugs are in all of the pics, so you will just have to imagine it. Here is Ardbeg
