Seized slant six 225 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II

How did you determine that the engine was seized? I thought I had a seized 440 once, turns out the starter was bad and wouldn't turn over the motor. Try putting a socket on the crankshaft bolt and turning it over with a breaker bar. Also maybe squirt some PB Blaster or similar type lubricant into the spark plug holes. Then try rotating the crankshaft.

See above posts. He did this already. Check out his pic of the hole in the piston!!

Wish you were closer, just listed a fresh rebuilt 63 slant six and auto trans out of my 63 belvedere.

Here is what I did to find that it was seized "The engine is actually seized. The starter was making contact with the flywheel, and just to make sure I took it to a local auto shop and had the starter tested.. it was working perfectly. Then I put a tire iron down on to the flywheel to see if i could get it to crank that way, there really weren't any leverage points. So finally, I removed the radiator and fan to get to the crank pulley. Strangely there was no center bolt on the crank pulley to twist. There are 3 bolts on the front of the crank pulley, I backed them out and used a tire iron on a metal rod to turn the crank pulley, in short it bent the tire iron which I have never seen before. The engine is most definitely seized. I even sprayed PB blaster through the spark plug holes into the cylinders, and still no dice."

But really what I found was: I guess when the guy that owned it before me was driving it the piston smacked the valves. I was cleaning off the heads and I actually found molten Aluminum on the valves where the piston with a hole was. Also I tried opening the valve and I am pretty sure that the guide is trashed. So oddly enough that hole in the piston isn't a rust hole, its just a melted piston.

I wonder what the story is on the 3.91 8 3/4 posi getting in there.

Beautiful car. Don't let it go. Throw a slant in it till you have the funds for other engines.

D_Fark, I wonder if maybe the police department swapped that in to run with all the muscle coming out at the time.. It is a retired detectives car, other than that.. I have no idea. Thank you, The man 440.

Can any year 225 work in the 65? I had heard that there were slight differences regarding the flex plate and torque converter (changed around 68?). It would be better to know in advance.
