SGTPauls 68 Charger RT project

A splash of color…

Hey all! Thanks for all the comments. 3 weeks since my last post and I feel like I’ve only done a couple of days of work… But I was able to get the front frame rails and shock towers all sanded down and painted. It’s amazing how good the base and clear can get out of a spray can. K frame and front suspension are next!

Wow, nice job your doing on your Charger.

I like the color...

Front suspension in… well most of it.

Thanks for the comments all. Before I get to the car stuff I have big news! My wonderful girl friend has accepted my proposal for marriage so we are now engaged!! :eek:ccasion18: Popped the questions on the shores of Lake Superior in the UP of Michigan on a recent fall color trip. And no she is not the reason I’ve been going so slow this year. She can’t wait for her first ride in the Charger. :3gears:

Now to the car stuff… Been slowly working on getting my front suspension in on the Charger. Just one challenge so far with the upper ball joint receivers in the upper control arms were stripped out, so I had to weld the ball joints in. Other than that it went together pretty easily. Power steering gear box is out for rebuilding now since I finally found a horn to replace the damaged one on my gearbox. Drum hubs are on as a temporary fix for rolling it around until I get my disc break conversion. Once I get the gear box back I’ll get that and the sway bar panted and on the car. Wheels on the ground so I can move it around again and then I’ll start working on the front clip, doors, and deck lid.

Congrats on the proposal. I wish the two of you a long and happy life. Now get the Charger done so we can tape the just married sign and strings of cans to it. Theres nothing more beautiful than the music of a big block Mopar on your wedding day.

Congratulations on the proposal and future wedding.Good to hear she wants you to get the car done so she can get a ride in it. The k=member and suspension looks good against the blue.

Congratulations on your engagement! That blue is great, a 68 Charger is a cool car the blue will fit nicely..

Wheels on the ground!!!

Thanks for all the comments and well wishes for Patti and me!!! We are very happy and appreciate your comments. We really enjoyed BibBlock61’s comment. Nice goal to have and will have to see what I can do but not promising anything.

Got my steering gearbox back, painted and installed. For the 1st time since April of 2012 I have a full suspension and wheels on my Charger!!! Felt really good rolling the R/T out of the garage today. Wanted to be at this point several months ago but oh well, I got here eventually. Cleaned up the rims and tires to go along with the nice straight body. Off to the front clip, doors, and deck lid now.
