The continued deterioration of the wreck of the Titanic.
Since its 1986 discovery, the remains of the ship have continued to suffer and disintegrate. Although glass objects, leather shoes and bronze seem to have remained intact, the steel and iron are crumbling.
As recently as a couple of years ago, the iconic railings that were featured in the Titanic movie were still in place, but the latest pictures show that they've fallen off. The second picture shows that 15 feet of railing are now missing.
One positive side effect of the corrosion is that it is hoped that as the ship falls apart, interior areas currently not accessible for viewing will be revealed.
