I gave away all my old strombecker slot car stuff. I had about a 100 pieces of track.

Put these on to play roller hockey or roller derby on the asphalt street of Brooklyn... Does anyone here know what a SKATE KEY is ? I still have one, on my car keychain....

We would build our own scooter. Use a wooden milk crate and nail it to a 2x4 wood board. Detach a skate in half, nail to each end of the board. Voila !

Or.. get wheels off a shopping cart, to make a go-kart. You needed a strong friend to push you to win your drag race !!

I once made a radio shack "light show box". It was a huge wood box with Christmas lights strewn about. With the electronics from the radio shack kit, it would light certain colors based on my guitar amp input. Kinda like a prequel to the rock light shows !! LOL !

Maybe it was an east coast thing ? The spaldeens and pennsy-pinkies was what we played ball on the streets of Brooklyn.

I do, I still have one. I remember back then you would wear it around your neck on a shoe string and if you had the key you were the ''KID''. But why wouldn't every kid that had skates not have a key?
