Erector sets.
Had them in the late 60’s. I didn’t read every post but with so many mechanical types on the site, some of you must have had them

We had 'hand-me-down' toys from older family members. Growing up on dairy farms, toys were really an evening activity.
One cool toy we had was a Hornby clockwork trainset very similar to this one. Of course we had to hand it back when the next generation came along.

They are worth an absolute fortune now.

Dad used to let us kids play with this, I still have it somewhere??? No joke!

Played with many of the toys shown. One that I didn't see yet was model rockets. We used to glue to tops shut on the rocket so it would come down and impale itself into the ground. Yeah, not too smart....

We also combined the balsa airplanes shown earlier in this thread with model rocket motors strapped to them. Of course, it was often too much for the balsa plane and tore the wings off, but it was fun!

Strapping the rocket ''engine'' to a 1/24 scale model car had a thrill. Then we found other things to do with the fuse, then we found Nichrome wire and batteries.

Skateboard with Road Rider wheels. I had Road Rider 4 on mine..

Farrah was riding on these wheels the same time I had mine. A Dodge Dart was harmed during the shooting of this skateboard chase.

I had this.

Note the CID callout on the hood.
