So I am getting ready to assemble my engine, its a 360 bored .040 over. Going to be a street/driver car.

I can get a couple options through my work for oil pumps..

Elgin $37
Elgin High Volume $83

Are either of those worth getting? or go with a different brand? Get a non high volume, and get the mopar high volume spring?

Thanks
Mike

No such animal as a HV spring, I am quite sure you mean high pressure spring. For a daily driver, use the half grooved stock mains, and use the stock pump, it will be just fine. I use melling pumps myself, as that is what comes from my kit supplier. Be sure to replace the pickup too, 72-S5.

Actually I meant spring !!

There is little need for the high pressure pump for a street bound car or even one that hits the strip every once and a while. They use a lite more HP to run.

I was more concerned with brand.. Is the Elgin a good brand to run? my old oil pump was working fine, but it was a stock motor that had never been torn into before.

Since I have it out of the car, and it is apart and a fresh rebuild with new pistons, bearings, cam, re-done heads, etc, (basically a new motor) I would like to replace the oil pump. However, do not want to put a p.o.s brand in there that has been proven to have problems..

I use Melling pumps, and replace the pickup too (Melling 72-S5). I doubt Elgin makes their own pumps. Most likely a reboxed Melling?
