So: can you help me out on a Hemming's Muscle Machine article?

335 factory rated with or without AG (although I'm sure it added some IRL).

There's some debate on the 5 HP for A/C cars as well, and the truth is pretty complex and year specific.
A lot of that information may have been just a Sales pitch to make a point of difference with the cars.

No 440 6bbl in 68.

Ha Ha!
Yeah, did I say there was?
If so, Im sorry!
I am so confused with the fact that I thought the 70 Bee and roadrunner came with a 440!
My world has been shaken to its foundation!

My 1970 Bee (AC, column auto car) has the 383
(I slapped in a 1970 Hemi, kind of want to go back to the 383)

NO 1970 440 4BBLs in the Superbee AND the Roadrunner...
Oh my....
Correct. 440-4/U code with buckets was standard on only R/T models. 383-4/N code with bench seat was standard on Bee/RR. I think that slotted the marketing for the masses with the Bee/RR as "no frills" lighter cars than the "plusher" R/Ts, and offering an upgrade to 440-4 would be too many price points.

FYI 1970 Super Bees total 14,139:
1,268 @440-6
36 @HEMI

Thanks for the info
I have owned this "one owner" 1970 Bee for 20 years
I am "up" on the DATA facts, just never knew the 440 4BBL was NOT an option
PS: Mine is a "post" only 1,600+
No Big deal

Well now I've learned something.
I didn't know just how rare R/T Coronets were. 70s especially.
I also didn't know that if you wanted a Coronet in 440 6 barrels in 69 model year ypu had to go with a Bee.
I thought 440 6 packs were available all 3 years.
According to this:
http://www.glenwood76.com/Coronet_Production_65_76.htm

440+6 in 1969.5, 1970, and 1971, plus those 2 or 3 1972 cars.

I think he was a Flipper
I HAVE the $$ but couldn't justify it
Now I am having second thoughts...

Drag Pack? How did it get a Ford package?

Ski you looking to/thinking about,
you may take the fresh nice 70 426ci Hemi out now ?
going back to OE 383 ?
do you still have the #'s matching 383 ?
hopefully, even then that'd be rare decision !!
that'd be an extremely rare move, going the other way
most people go the way you did already,
the $$$ already spent, it is what it is...
Is it just not very drivable or what ?
Just curious why, going backwards ?

Yes Budnicks,
I am probably going to go back to the original 383
I do have it
Its all done/built
906s were done by Indy back in 2000

Budnicks,
To answer your question, it's a real May 1969 426
(All Hemi engine production stopped May 69 UNLESS its a Service block, so it's correct for 70 and 71 cars)
My car is a 383
Maybe some one with a 70-71 semi could use this engine "better" than I can/did...
I'm thinking about it....
