So someone syphoned my gas.

I remember my grandpa telling a story about kids taking his gas. He rigged up a battery with 2 bare wires, positve on one side, ground on the other. behind the plate so when you reached in, either side of your hand made contact with wires. They flipped down the plate on his old fury, reached in to twist off the cap and got a rude awakening.

Few years later someone tried it on his old international. Problem was he had a camper on it and never took it off, so the rear tank was no longer a fuel tank, but the septic for the camper.

Not sure id want something that sparks near my gas cap ;) I had a friend do something similar with his stereo. Not sure how he set it up but anyone who would try to remove his sub woofers was met by a nice electric shock.

If you really want to screw the pricks mix some bleach in with the gas. Not only will it stop running but it will DESTROY the tank so even if they clean it out, it will have to be replaced and possibly the lines and injectors too. Realistically I would set up a camera system at the same time, catch the bastards and enact divine retribution later in some fashion (I'd get creative but probably not legal so I'll leave that out)

No cr8crshr my beloved RR & parts are always locked/stored in a garage or shed, so is my Dakota 4x4 & that also has an alarm... the only thing left outside is the RV, it's always locked up & the old Boat, kind of wish the boat was gone anyway...LOL..., behind the fence at the back of the property, near my bedroom, the Dually F-350 4x4 {I let Pop's drive} has an alarm, is left under the other car port, just outside our office window... I'm not all that trusting, even up here, kind of in the sticks, it's pretty safe with 2 Sheriff's, a Ca. Hwy Patrol & a Game Warden, in my immediate area... But even when I lived in the upscale Rancho Murieta Ca. {in the valley, east of Sacramento}, a nice private gated golf community, I still didn't trust people enough to leave my stuff outside, mostly because of the youth/teenagers running amok, more than the adults... But it doesn't matter where you live, there are people that will steal from you, if given the opertunity... If I did still lived anywhere near the big city masses, with all the thief's, tweekers, slackers & scumbags, taking advantage of the good hard working people, I wouldn't trust leaving anything outside, if I could avoid it... I'm always thinking security & it has served me well, for a very long time now...

Locks just help keep them honest, If someone wants in, locks don't stop too much, but it's my guns/security that helps makes sure they will remain safe...

Nice spread there Dude!!!!

The reason I didn't call the cops on the gas thief was that I knew that the thief would not be smart enough to figure out that he had a fuel tank full of water. I figured he would have to paid a mechanic to fix it. If I called the police I would have to tell them what I did and with that info the dirtbag would be back on the road quick. The car is still in his parents driveway and has not moved since he towed it home. I know becaus I knocked on the door and asked if they wanted to sell it and they told me it does not run. Now when I drive down his street and see it dirty with all of the spiderwebs under it I can't help laughing.

I had a friend that was having a problem with gas being stolen out of his gas cans. He filled one up and added a cup of sugar. He only had the gas stolen one more time. He never had that problem again.
