i finally broke down and ordered a new kb for my pc last month.
a nice lighted one thats wireless so my old blind self could see the keys.

Brand New,black or white i chose black.
apparently this was a mistake...a week later its still not shipped i ask the seller whats up?
her reply is we are out of stock in black would you like white?
no.....ty,please refund me....thanks for not telling me squat...
but o hey wait!..she replies a day later.
Now we have a black one,its on the way...another week goes by.
kb arrives in the package im about to show you.
ripped open,clearly taped together and hey its got missing box area from Prior shipping labels.
hmm,thats odd..i coulda swore i bought and paid for Brand New.

open it up kb looks ok i plug in the chip reader,Nothing works on kb.
the mouse does,but,i also note the mouse is still ON..you know..from the last buyer.
so i try to plug in the kb to my pc to charge it and hey wow thats kinda loose o..oh..ohhhh.
its broken right off the circuit board inside..how..nice.
And...there wasnt even an Owners manual in the box.

so i get ahold of the seller and she doesnt give 2 chits..
in Fact she offers me..are you sitting down?.....a partial refund of my money !!
now,ive sent pics and everything,
proving she sent me defective merchandise and knowingly at that.
this woman doesnt have a moral leg to stand on but she hops around like a kangaroo pretty good.
i insist on a full refund,of course,and this goes back and forth for Days ??!!
she Finally does it...today..almost an eon after the sale.
then i find out,because i got refunded i cant post negative feedback??
erm..whats what all about?..has ebay lost their minds?
that means everyone else is gonna get robbed too...smh.

so at this point,im determined.....
i take this kb all apart and yep the charge port is literally laying inside the case.
i look at it its got Tiny little holes for 2 even Tinier prongs...
looks like they didnt put enough solder in the original holes at the factory.
i also note that one of the screws on the Circuit board retainer is completely stripped out recently,so someone else has been inside it.

so i go looking for my magnifier glasses..hmm..vamoosed.
tried some smaller glass,not good enough.
and im like..o Lord help me.and...He did..immediately into my head comes the thought.
i grabbed 2 older pairs of glasses stacked all 3 sets up on my nose
and went to work soldering on that board.
i had to lay the solder on the prongs and then clamp it on the board and resolder from the top and Pray a Lot ....again,Ty Lord.

the last pic is after ive fixed the port and now have a working kb with a working chargeport.

eBay is a cesspool now. It was great, a long time ago. Then they got too greedy, too involved. Because I’m so isolated I still need to go there to buy some stuff. I can’t count the CD’s and DVD’s that I bought, new in the package, that were just burned on somebody’s computer and a label and insert printed. I’m not angry or bored enough to **** with these people, but I should not have to so I just eat it. It’s sad, I dealt with mostly amazing people back in the day but that was nearly twenty years ago.

Should be a LED key, right side of the FN key. Hold that and then one of the F keys on the top row.

Google your key board model for a user manual.

It's a balancing act for them, meaning Ebay. They needed to kiss the buyer's a**es, for a while. Then complaints from the sellers tip the scales in their favor for a while.....back and forth. It's been going this way the whole time that circus has been in business. They had a really nice setup in the earlier days (when the brunt of sales were actually auctions), but they refused to put down the monkey wrench. I knew it was over when I found out they were rounding up bids, which tipped the seller fees in their favor. It only made fractions of cents per transaction, but they were busy then, and it was adding up for them nicely. They really want to find ways to screw both the buyer and seller. I say, old news, screw them, take care of yourself any way you can. Thank God you only got stuck on something relatively minor.

Tell you another thing that sucks about ebay. I collect coins also. Ordered a coin, 3 days later my phone buzzes that it was delivered. I go outside to check , no coin. I contact ebay , explain, they tell me to work it out with the seller, I say the seller has nothing to do with it. USPS says it was delivered to my address. I say I think it was delivered to the wrong address or a porch thief stole it. Long story short they deny my request for paypal to refund me as the tracking number says it was delivered. Someone got a nice coin.

If you have Windows 11, there's a control panel called Dynamic Lighting in Display Properties that might let you mess with the colors without installing the keyboard bloatware (and likely spyware).

Dynamic Lighting is now available on Windows 11

I setup a few premium Asus gamer laptops with RGB keyboards and the default is to install 2, maybe 3 bloated software entries that run 24/7 and do lord-knows-what behind the scenes. I was able to uninstall all the RGB bloatware and use the Win 11 control panel to change the colors.

That sucks. I don't buy much on E bay any more. I am trying hard to buy local. Keyboard? I just bought a wireless from my local Best Buy for my laptop. It wouldn't work right so I took it back for a refund. No issues there at all. I found an old corded one upstairs, plugged it in and never looked back. Something about the frequencies the wireless keyboard and my wireless mouse share was causing the issue. They don't play well together.

Same here....I stopped buying them years ago. Just backyard DVD burners going full production. Passed off as genuine.
