Hi, I finished my rear end upgrade today with a spartan locker (8.25). Installed it just like in every YouTube video I have found. Just came from my test drive and I noticed a constantly clicking sound when cornering. At a straight line it’s quiet. I didn’t dare a burnout yet to see if both wheels lock up.

I heared Spartan‘s make that noise while cornering. I never heared anything about clicking rear ends while taking a turn that completely new to me.

Have any of you guys have experience with these kind of lockers?

Daniel

Those that are like that, do click in turns. Normal function.

I don't know the brand, but my 65 Coronet does that. I was told it's normal and I've had no issues with mine.

I have a real Detroit locker in my 8 3/4 and clicking during turns is entirely normal. I believe it is for the lockers that fit in open diffs too.

(I think there are things called "soft lockers" that are quieter, but I don't know if such a thing is available to retrofit an open diff.)

I have those ratcheting lockers in one of my offroad rigs, if they are clicking, it means they are working and installed correctly.
