Slinger was on correct way, no gouges or rubbing marks inside the cover.

Is the seal bottomed out in the cover?
Mine is correct as well - but I do see something on the crnk shaft. The picture I posted is the correct orientation of the slinger and seal. I've known the seal to be in wrong also.
Yup - but I will be putting a new one in.Is the seal bottomed out in the cover?
seal is not damaged - bad picture. Is the seal damaged. Looks like the spring isn't in where it suppose to be. Kind of blurred.
Thanks = will do. i am hoping that the squeal will be gone this weekend. If it's a rod bearing again, this car is going off a cliff ...just kidding, I love it too much.Grease both the seal and dampner real good when reinstalling. If possible, leave the bolts loose on the cover when installing the dampner through the seal. Keeps the seal from getting pinched. I know it's a lot to do at one time but it can help.
That's khryslerkid's pic - not mine. Why is the timing cover all chewed up? That looks like the cam is walking forward and the bolts are getting into the cover.
Yeah, I stole that pic off the www. Lol I didn't even see the scaring from the cam bolts. Looks like someone has some problems! Why is the timing cover all chewed up? That looks like the cam is walking forward and the bolts are getting into the cover.
