Suggestions to raise rear by 1" or 2"

and if you move the torsion bars......you need an alignment...and now the entire car is sitting low

You don't get it do you? Clearly you didn't read what I wrote!

what you printed is PERFECTLY clear...lower the front..and you will need an alignment and the car is now lower all around...like a water leak in a boat...make another hole for it to run out of

My air shocks only stayed on about 2-3 years before being replaced with regular type shocks. Air shocks are a Band-Aid fix type only, until you can fix the problem. Hated the rattle ride, with decreased handling as a bad side effect. Still have a pair on the shelf. Work on the springs for ride and height control, then use shocks to dampen the ride and sway bars for sway, if needed.

I had a local shop that specialized in truck springs re-arch and add one leaf to my springs. I had them raise it up by a few inches. The original springs ride great out on the highway.

The proper way to set the rear height is with the springs, not the shocks. New springs, re-arch and or add a leaf are the main options. I my younger days I used a big o' hammer and an anvil to re-arch them myself. Now days I just take them to the spring shop.

No, you'd get the whole complete spring and replace it.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Looks fantastic.

If I had to guess, that's at least 2.5 - 3" taller than stock.

If you want another recommendation I'd call ESPO. Tell them what you want. If I recall I think i spent around $300 with shackles. http://www.springsnthings.com/

Mine has the 6 leaf HD "stock replacement" From ESPO and it raised it 1.25-1.5"

I rearched the springs in my '73 Cuda about 5 years ago and initially the car was about an inch higher than normal. It has since settled down to normal height. If your going to rearch for rake- overarch the springs to account for eventual settling. Air shocks- I ran Gabriel's in the '80s. They worked great but eventually leaked.

For the price of a new center bolt. you can arc them yourself with a big F****ing Hammer. I've done them on the curb if you don't have an anvil or big piece of metal. Let the blacksmith in you come out.

You just add it to the bottom of the pack. Undo your U bolts, take out the center bolt. Stick the add a leaf to the bottom, put back together. Someday I am going to take pictures of the procedure, and sell it to Add a leaf. They have no idea of how many cars this works on. I have a friend that did his 67 Ford Fairlane GT, and it looked super. At least so far as a Ford could look super. I think I have some pictures of the Fairlane if I can find them I will post them. I use to take my springs to our spring co. but they charged a lot more than the add a leads, and did not do any thing more. So what's the down side? Your going to spend a Saturday and 35 bucks raising your rear a couple of inches.

By the way, you could turn the torsion bars down an inch on the front, and have an awesome rake for free.

If you notice the fender lip is about 1 inch above the lip of the wheel. I used a taller tire on the rear to give the illusion of being lifted higher than it really is.
