Worked better than I expected. I did have to slide it sideways through the fender opening, lol

Good news, it's in there. Now for all of the little jobs. I'll be awhile doing all of them.

I like mine. Placed it on a square metal table with wheels on it. I roll it outside because they do leak. I use a wide masking tape around the lid when I'm useing it. Remove tape and stick it on the side of the unit, then reapply the same pieces.

Mine blew the small hose off when I first hooked up the air, 120#. Only suppose to use 100# or less. Went to Lowes and bought a longer siphon hose to. I'm trying to use it with the wind at my back and a respirator should be used, paper one will work. I'm useing the Black Bull glass beads. Does great.

Moisture filtration another concern. I suppose one more trap just before. I like the fact that it is mobile and shelvable when not needed. Thanks for those tips Kid! Your Dodge is looking Awesome!

Like your trans jack plate. I took a square piece of 1/2" plywood drilled it and tapped holes in swivel plate on jack to bolt it down. Used two counter sunk 3/8" allen head bolts to hold it. Just dug it out and have to change it to remove a 4 speed.

Kid, seeing your trans jack, we always find a way to make the job easier. 10 years ago when I was hand bombing my tremic in and out of the 67 I had to come up with a better way. This is what I came up with!

I've never seen that before! I've actually seen a youtube video with a guy pulling stumps and fence post with one! You have to think outside the box in our hobby!

Cold out in the shop today. Took a couple of hours to get it up to 60 degs.
Decided to go ahead and cut the notch in the K frame. I'll go into more detail in my oil pan thread.

Great amount of progress, the Dodge is looking good. I can't believe this is the first I've ran across this thread. Keep up the good work.

Up dating with new Doug's Headers 452-B.
Nothing says old school like a set of black Doug's! (New High Heat black paint. Not just cheap black paint to keep them from rusting)

The 452 heads have a ridge right below the valve cover. You have to chamfer the top edge of the header flange to clear.

With the steering column removed, drivers side drops in from the top. (Piece of cake!) Useing studs at both ends, header hanging on front stud, I snuck the mini starter in through the back. All kinds of room around the starter!

Passenger side motor mount nut has to come loose in order to raise this side at least an inch. Installed from the bottom. Tight fit with the two inch tube. I loosened the motor mount to K frame bracket also.

After installing two studs I let the engine back down. What a pain getting to the motor mount nut and the motor mount bracket nut with the header in the way! I spent more time re-tightening those than I did buttoning up the header.

On installing header bolts on this side, the second bolt back, at #2 cylinder, needs to go in when the header is loose and a 3/16" gap between the head and header flange. Open end wrench from under the tube. Don't be in any hurry, lol

All in all, they are a great set, heavy duty and quality workmanship. No hammering necessary and all clearances check out great.

I put the spark plugs back in, to keep the spiders out, with my fingers, all except #6. I actually had to screw that one in from underneath. If I had the right size rubber hose, to push over the porcelain part of the plug, I could have done it from up top. It's on my list to get a short piece.

Got the headers all plumbed up this week. Word of advice, don't measure anything when doing one yourself. The engine sits off center and cocked, one header is longer than the other, the tunnel is two inches off center in the floor. I was trying to figure out how one half of the system wasn't looking like the other. That's why! So just wing it, throw the tape measure back in your tool box.

Bought the X pipe, mufflers and misc. pieces from Jegs. Bought the tail pipes from Summit.

Mocking up everything, cutting where ever to make it work out. Then just tack weld to move on to the next piece.

Then I took it all apart to weld on the table, instead of trying it on my back under the car. I need a lift!

Useing galvanized pipe, sand or scotch bright where your going to weld first. Makes it a whole lot easier to weld.

You have to think about what you're going to weld first. Having everything tacked good, welding where it doesn't have a "pulling" effect on your piece. Use a couple of clamps will help too. You don't want it to pull out of shape.

Then I cleaned the welds, wiped it all down with thinner and gave it a coat of high heat paint.

Had to cut just a little off the tailpipes. They make them to fit Road Runners too!

Speaking of tailpipes, these hangers look shot! There're origanal. Amazing, the threaded clips were in good shape so I reused them. Found these rubber hangers, at Advance Auto, to replace the old ones and reused the origanal brackets.

The part I like, is after everything is welded up, you bolt them to the headers and they fit perfect!
