Temporary fix on header

After considering my options on this issue i think i will go for a repair, which will require to remove the header.
At the moment i don't want to spend another 3-3.5K on this.
I will have to remove the header and get it fixed, in the mean time i can do something about the threaded holes on the cylinder head and get some heli coils installed...if i get the space.
How much the engine requires to be lifted to get these headers out?
Would i make it without pulling the engine out? (assume the header comes out from top?)
Guess the first stop would be the bellhousing touching the fire wall right?
Radiator fan etc. i will also remove to get some other things done so that will clear everything.

I would, and have, brazed headers many times. Easy on your situation. Gas welding oxy/acytolene tip with brass flux rod. You can flow it into the tight space.

I will try to find a solid piece of aluminium to keep on the inside and then make a full penetration weld with TIG.
As recommended drill a little hole on the ends of the crack prior of welding, think that is my best chance...first have to get the header out though.
Today not going to happen 30+ deg C here, hiding in the shade with some beverage

When i started removing stuff i realised this will become a massive pain in the butt to get the headers out without removing the engine.
I don't have access to a lift so to do all this stuff on the ground i not going to be a easy job.
So instead i bite the bullet and am preparing to remove the engine.

I will see how the rest of the header will look like, if this is the only one cracked and can be repaired properly i will reinstall it.
Otherwise i will have to break the bank and get some new headers.
As I am waiting for some materials i've ordered, including a engine lifting plate, and while the exhausts are removed i went ahead and changed the transmission mount. I had a new one already for a long time but never got to it.
It looked like pretty old so a good thing i changed it.
