Beautiful GTX sir and sounds great! And I enjoyed your narrated video very much. Also, beautiful place {Tennessee} you live !
Yeah, I may have been a bit premature with this - but seriously, I've had about enough.Looks good from here Ed! We have a ways to go before this snow leaves the northeast. Can't wait for the first drive of the year.
Yeah, that'd been great right? Throw a rod on camera....You could have at least gave us a quick and sweet rev just as you signed off!
Thanks. Hey, anytime - just holler. Y'all are more than welcome to our La Plastique-sided Hacienda on the Ridge!Nicely done! I'm a few states away but may be I'll stop by for a beer or Bourbon one day when I'm in your neighborhood. Looks like a nice place!
Thanks. Yeah, that dang color is what started all this trouble.Love the car, love the colour!
That's a very generous offer for sure, thanks. Not sure how they'd adapt to the big ol' goofy 3" pipes on FredIf you ever consider those round ones that are on ram trucks, I know they're not the original style, they're yours, I'd ship them to you. Just saying.
Thanks. I think he sounds sorta goofy, like someone ripped the downspouts off the house and stuck 'em under there.Love it! Looks and sounds beautifully menacing
Everyone is well, thanks Dave. I even got 'Rona-tested last Friday when I went to visit a potential customer.Ed never put Fred down , beautiful car and sounds great. Love your spread and with that clear weather take Fred out, dont tease him. Hope all is well Dave
Oh yeah, that's a GREAT idea, thanks Don! Oh - and there's a crap-ton of land down here selling for a couple grand an acre.I'm a bit envious probably 6 more weeks of winter here. I don't start mine until I can take them out and drive them. Usually about a 5 month period.
Oh and if you loosen a metering rod cover you can use you squirt fuel down the hole for the rod. Goes right to the primary bowl.
Have a great day.
Oh heck, first I was Jim Stafford, now I'm Waylon. You sound like you could have narrated for The Dukes of Hazzard.
Great car, great voice, nice presentation.
That's sort of what I'm trying to stir up around here....
It's time to see everyone waking up their beasts! By God, if Fred can do it, any of 'em can!
Instant boost to the mood for sure.
Wait a minute...I don't know whether that was a dig or a compliment.

There's other videos on my channel, one of which shows me goosin' it a little bit:Wasn't talkin about a moon Rev but just a little throat-clearing. It sure sounds good though just sitting idling....

I'll make a video special just for you next time I have Fred warmed up though.
This reminds me of an early memory of first being on these forums for me, years ago
though...
I don't remember what the subject was (probably me fighting one of the other messed
up engines I had in the car at the time) where a rather prominent, knowledgeable member
dressed me down for revving the car in the garage in neutral.
"YOU NEVER REV ONE UP THAT HIGH WITHOUT A LOAD ON IT!" or some such, he proclaimed.
I was like "wut??"
He said it was terribly hard on an engine....which of course, my horse sense just dismissed
out of hand.
Still doesn't make sense to me, but then...I'm ignernt.
Oh, I get ya now....and I agree for the most part. One of the things I've never liked doing was revving an engine to the moon sitting still. Even when drag racing I never did that to 'clean the plugs' after a burn out. I know many do this but I never did and never saw a change in ET or the way the engine ran vs 'cleaning the plugs off'. Imo, it just puts more wear and tear on the engine but never saw any harm in doing a quick but 'gentle' rev after a long idle. Letting an engine idle for long periods does more harm (again my opinion) since oil pressure and oil flow drops while the heads heat up along with the valve springs while water temps steadily rise. Of course, in the winter time, conditions are usually different for water temps but oil flow and psi are still low at idle. Have a buddy of mine that would wing the engine 3 times after a burn out and I know it was seeing at least 6k or more each time lol. To me that's just not needed.
You're very kind - and very right (about TN). It's certainly "different" here, but it truly is "God's Country".Beautiful GTX sir and sounds great! And I enjoyed your narrated video very much. Also, beautiful place {Tennessee} you live !
Aww come on Dad - ain't all of us blessed with the means and the abilities to throw one back together better than newCome'on Ed... at least when I got mine out I did some donuts for the folks!!!!
They do, but it's been a fairly uneventful winter other than the usual smattering of ice/snow that go awayBy the looks of your yard, almost seems like you should have taken Fred out for a spin. Or do they throw salt on the roads in TN?
Hey there my friend, thank you and God bless y'all!@moparedtn Glad that you are still here to enjoy playing with Fred! I’d be taking my new Barracuda out if we didn’t have slush and water puddles on the pavement here, but as soon as the roads are clear, I’ll be out and about in it. It doesn’t even have a heater in it. Be well my brother!
