Gonna bring 45k!
I wouldn’t trust Galen to give me a weather report. If he said it was raining outside. I’d have to go look. They said 112 total V code Charger production for years. According to my Galen report on my car 349 manual transmission equipped cars and 337 automatic transmission equipped cars.
Going back on what RC said that car doesn’t have to be a RT clone to be a cool car. Any 2nd Gen Charger is cool in my book. My Charger is a real RT, not a super rare model but does have a few small Options like the G-36 painted mirror, V-21 on the fender tag along with J-45 Hood pens. Not on the tag but was probably original to the car, front bumperettes, 3.91 gears, had holes drilled in the original deck lid for a go-wing. Now it supports a T-56 Magnum with all kinds of goodies.I agree RC ,unless the car is rotted in half, any 68 to 70 Charger R/T especially one that runs and drives is going to start in the 40k plus range needing to be restored. If a restomod is what you want to build, you are better off starting with a car like that 70.
& probably worth more when finished tooI think that a car like that would be a great starting point to build an R/T clone upgraded with a 392, overdrive transmission, interior color change, suspension modifications and high impact paint. However, at a starting point of around 50 grand, I can easily see another 50-75 grand going into it bringing the total cost to well over a hundred large. However, the end result would be a car that was a great driver that you could take anywhere, unlike a restored "real" Charger R/T.
I know that I'm living in the past because a hundred grand is a lot of money, but it sure seems that 100 grand isn't a lot of money anymore when talking about our cars.
& probably worth more when finished too
if done right/quality parts Or professionally done
I have noticed that a large percentage of 1970 Chargers were this same FK5 color. A LOT.I'm partial to 70'sView attachment 1416966
I think it's a color that's not too wild but very classy, Depending on the light my car changes color which i think is kinda cool.I have noticed that a large percentage of 1970 Chargers were this same FK5 color. A LOT.
Jigsaw is FK5. Island Kent has one, YOU have one, a guy on Youtube in Chicago dragged one out of a long hibernation and is building one.
I looked at the 1970 Charger Registry and saw that something like 13% of the 1970 Charger 500s were this color, the highest percentage of all colors.
Still think the '68 Charger is nicest design. Just one thing I don't like about '68 Dodge B-bodies. Is the little round front fender reflector. It's too high. Looks like a bullet hole. A very fake bullet hole. Plymouth location is better. And the rectangle of '69 and '70 are better yet.
JMO of course.
That car is absolutely breathtaking!I think it's a color that's not too wild but very classy, Depending on the light my car changes color which i think is kinda cool.View attachment 1416975
