The Body of a Brit, but the Heart of a Mopar....

There was an older guy in our car club that had one (not sure what year) and it had a 383 in it with a Six Pac. He said that it was stock and came that way!

Jensen must have been tight with edelbrock!

If I had the room and money for a stable of cars, a Jensen Interceptor would be part of it, but then again so would a Studebaker Avanti.

I love this post.jpg

Always liked the Jenson Interceptors 383 or 440 version

I had a thing for Brit cars in my youth, I just thought;
what a great deal a BB Chrysler engine & 727tf trans in a British car

never did own one

had a thing for the Cunningham's too, with early hemi's

Or a Hillman Imp (Rootes Group/Chrysler) with a 225 /6.
Or the Rootes groupe/Sunbeam Tiger
with a SB MoPar 340 6bbl would've been cool,
when Chrysler owned them
instead of a Ford,
the rear distributor on the LA motor would make it difficult

My '73 Jensen Interceptor project car. Split a brake line last time I drove it

I had a buddy with a LT1 350/TH 350 in a MGB-GT,
narrowed 8-3/4", that thing was a rocket, fast
We'd cruised it in Modesto & Cupertino, few times
also in Walnut Creek, Main Street a few times...
Eric Berardo, from Concord, he was a cool guy lil' dude, but a bad ***

him & his brother, also had, orig. his dad's car IIRC
(his dad was a Japanese refugee/detainee in the WWII holding camp here)
they had a well known (1970 IIRC) White Challenger R/T 440 six pack/727tf
called the 'Instigator' was painted on the trunk lid, nice polished slot,
70's style, lil' rake, nice motor & trans, Bill Stamerjohn built motor (out of Sacramento)
we had fun street racing with them guys, a lot...
They had an org. Supercharged 289cid Avante, White too, dad's car again...

Yeah they did make 6bbl/Six Pak manifolds for Low-deck 383,
but none I know were ever installed or offered at the factory...

I had an org. one from Edelbrock on my 479cid, in my Silver RR/Low deck too
& I still do, I have one right now, it was from MP thou, like circa 2005-2007-ish...
Mancini still sells them...
Very much like the org. 440 design, but for a low deck...
Edelbrock quit making them not long after they started...

Right. No factory offering of a low deck Sixpack. Over the counter only, from Mopar parts or from Eddie directly through a speedshop.

Edit: I thought the Sixpack 383 manifolds were gone decades ago. Apparently, Monicatti's still has new ones for $380. Still, a LOT of money for eyewash after buying manifold, carbs, linkage, fuel lines, and air cleaner. $3500?

British body, with the heart of a c-word. It is sorta fast. I seriously thought about a 440 for it, but an aluminum head sb Chevy was 200 lbs lighter than my iron head 440, and I had Chevy headers. Custom headers for the 440 would have cost more than I paid for the car.

Speakin of a Brit and a Murican. School is in session.

Jay - "it pulls nicely. You know I live in a hilly area, so you need that little extra"
That was a great video. Every one of the cars and bikes Jay showed him had great power to weight ratio. Jay's the man and such an asset to the car hobby.

When I was an apprentice, one of my friends who lived close-by had a Sunbeam Tiger with a hot little 289 and a 5-speed. We used to ride-share to Tech each fortnight. They were some of the best rides I have had in many a year....that car was a little fireball....and painted a bright yellow like a free-range egg yolk.

My car at the time was by comparison a lame Ford Escort with a 4-cyl 1300cc and 4-speed.....with headers. :)
Both cars would be worth a fortune now.

Don't forget the Interceptor's somewhat less pretty predecessor, the C-V8, came with Chrysler V8s too
