THE JAVELIN HAS ARRIVED...in the storm

Nice find. The car brings back memories of when I started work at AMC in 1971. We had an AMX 401 4 speed lab car That was really fun to drive. The 304 is a good motor.

Damn, those cars in your barn are awesome. Great work on the Javelin, looks epic!

Cars are looken' great, your Javy is looken' great, in such a short period of time, you must still not be doing the Union Carpentry employment/work lately, getting so much done, your kind of making me feel guilty, I'm procrastinating on my RR & Dakota so much... Not really...LOL...., but cool shots thanks for sharing them... I'm glad you have had good luck with E-Scam/Bay, I've been screwed too many times now, never whats actually advertised & over priced rusty garbage, even with people that have a good rating/feedback, I'm really fed up with it myself, I won't buy there any more, at least for now, I haven't for a couple years now, I'll find stuff elsewhere, oh well... such is life... but you keep up the good work, keep supporting the economy.... keep your nose clean, no more vacations for a while

yeah stuie...i THINK the 69 camaros( vomit) used that or something like it....but im not 100% positive. the SST handles were a wood grain plastic and thats what i broke trying to get it off....and couldnt find another wood grain handle...so black will have to do. they are repro-ing alot of stuff for these cars.....but nuthin like the repro market for the Mopars...and the AMC stuff is ALOT more expensive and hard to locate. the dash i got for 69 buxx...but once i got mine out, i found that i only needed the clear plastic, but the dash i got has 12000 on the clock , and mine had 43000( original miles) on the clock. heres a pic of the dash i took out...the innerds were fine but the clear was destroyed from the sun. also a pic of the 72 tail lights also sun faded. 003.jpg005.jpgjav 001.jpg

YOURE THE MAN I NEED TO TALK TO... the 304 has a ford 2 barrel on it. i have been told the 304 aint worth building...but what i want to do is...cam it...and put the brandy new eddy 750 i have here on it. all ill need is a 4 bbl intake and a cam and lifters and valve train. what is your opinion on building this 304 that only has 8.5 compression...and i THINK 220 horses ???

Plenty of 304's were built by the guys running them in the jeep CJ's. Yeah a 390 or 401 would be better but those are hard to find. There should be performance parts for the 304 out there. One of my friends was the engine builder at AMC for the dyno room he has done many engines and he should be able to hook you up with parts or know a source for them and also advice on what to do with your build.

Dawg, I hope when you got the Pennsylvania plates you were able to save the black California ones. I think it had the black plates didnt it? Anyway, those plates are highly desirable and will attract a future buyer if you ever decide to sell the car. It lets people know that its an original California rust free car. DMV always tries to take them away over here when we re register but I was able to keep the black plates on my Satellite.

i sent them back to John...the dude you met with. he had to jump thru a few hoops to get the title settled in Cali . i wanted to keep at least one, but i promised i would send them back and i did. he is DEMANDING i send him pix on the phone as i make progress. he is more excited than i am it seems, so i kklikk off a few pix and email them to him.

i got Pa plates on it, Hagerty insurance and have been "test driving" it when its not raining. im actually working on it right now. typin and spinnin' wrenches....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. not really, i just broke for lunch and chekkin the forum.if ya still got my number gimmee a call !

Dave...I mean Dawg...Tuck here. Like what I am seeing on that Javelin. It will be a cool one I know. As for the dulled dash clear plastic, you might try some Tooth Paste with a Whitening agent to polish that up. I have done that on my daily driver and it worked out well. Not brand new looking but really clean. Also if you feel brave enough, you can use an Ascorbic Acid Wash to knock down the dullness too. But ya need to be careful and stay on top of it as it will eventually eat through the plastic. I got that tip from Overhaulin' a year or so ago. They were doin' a CHEBBY and couldn't get some plastic lenses so they used the Acid wash. TV showd a really good before and after view and the results looked great. On the 750 carb for the 304, I think that might be a tad too much what with your expected HP and what ya got. 625 to 650 would be about all I would do. But it is your build so go with what ya want. Sucks about the lay off again after 2 days of bustin' the hump. Gonna get worse before it gets better. That being said at least ya got something to fill in with that you like and enjoy doing.

On a side note...Got my 383 for the Satellite back together again and will try and re-install it before the Holidays kick in. Otherwise it will be after the first. Pics to follow. You and the family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...cr8crshr/Tuck

i replaced the smogged up clear dash plastic...actually i replaced the entire dash ( look at the pix i posted ). the 750 is brand new and its paid for...lol...i dunno if i even want to hypo up the 304, i just might get a new 2 bbl and call that done. id like to have a car that gets SOME KINDA mileage ifyaknowwhatimean . i just picked up a back bumper tonight from a dude on craigslist. its DEFINITELY driver quality with the standard pits ( very small), but at least its straight and dont have a BIG 'OL DENT in it like whats on there now! gotta find a front one still . kool beans on the 383....ill be needin pix of that! MC and a HNY to you too! ho - ho - ho -

That Javelin looks great,I like the 71 tail lights better also.A buddy of mine had one back in high school, white with a green vinyl top if I remember right. Can you put tags from the year of your car on and register them in PA?I have 69 tags on my road runnermisc roadrunner 005.jpg

I was told from 1906 to 1975 but i believe you had to provide the plate for a vintage or antique registration, i think it was that we had to send it to them to do it but Penn-Dot themselves don't issue them "period correct"... I might have misunderstood it or told wrong, I just chose antique plates for my 73 because its a one time deal without inspection every year or buying plates each year. Not driven all the time like my Ram, inspection is a good thing but they continue to get more strict with it.

when i transferred the title, i asked the girls at Joe Fidas about that, they looked at me like i was from another planet. i would much rather have antique plates on these cars, but PA has a pic of a model T on the antique plates now....and i really dont want that plate on my hot rods ifyacandiggit. i liked the purple and white ones,,,,,much more "doable" in my opinion. if ya think about it,,,,having antique plates on an old car without inspection kinda sounds dangerous to someone that dont" wrench" their own cars and really dont know how to tell bad parts from good ones, coz theres alot out there like that......rich boys that dont get their hands dirty with grease and buy a pretty car and dont know the first thing about it.
