Good find on the javelin. If you need any parts i think the salvage yard not far from me might have one. He usually closes around first snowfall but i can check for you.If he does have a part you need, i would only charge you what i paid for the part plus shpg.Don't need to get rich just help another member make his ride better.

If they are not reproduced I would look at what it would cost to get them fixed and if you get them redone you will be ahead of where you want the car to be.

I had bumpers for a 70 SCJ Tornio Cobra that was rechromed and they looked really good and they were bent. I took them into AutoKrafters its a Mustang/Ford parts place and they sent them out twice for me to be done. The chrome had a place in it that was not perfect.

My dad used to use a place in Richmond VA I think called Bumper Guys. I think used to be called Richmond Bumpers. How close are you to totally auto? I would ask them who they use for stuff like this. I know restoration shops got tired of me talking to them lol I bugged them until I got answers lol.

I found this one not far from the same year as yours and the same motor. I may have to call about it. I do love the AMX body of the 70s I think 71-74 are the same.

I also saw a 68 390 Go Package car as well in my search for Mopars and old Muscle cars. It needs body panels but the 73 looks nice.

Here is the add and a link-

I'm selling my 73 amx javelin, it has a 304 V-8 automatic. The car runs great and looks amazing. It has new upholstery, new vinly top, and new stripes. This car makes a great show car and weekend cruiser. I'm looking to get $7,500 obo also willing to trade as well

I know we all wish it had a bigger motor but who says it can't be rodded out with a big block MOPAR motor!

dammmmmmmmmmmmmm....thats sharp !!! 7500 huh?...i bet you could get it for 6500 or 7000. id like to have a 390 in mine, but my 440 Belvedere will snap my neck and get that job done in a hurry! that Jav right there is in good shape!...id call on it! who cares if it has a 304...im sure you have other hot rods that will snap your neck.....right ???

...while im here i might as well update the Javelin....:

interior gutted...not a mark on the floor pans but slight surface rust

i wire wheeled the bad spots...put rust stopper on it and painted the floor pans with this CRAZY primer...nuthin will get to it now. put in sound deadner on the floors! (used clear silicone , not glue...got sound deadener at lowes for 14 buxx...same **** they sell on ebay for 89.00...no difference. its 16" x 25' silver backed bubble wrap...WORKED GREAT! )

painted all the interior panels (minus the dash...so far ) ....working on a headliner base (has Naugahyde on it )..wanna restore that

got all the interior lights working

new carpets are ordered and on their way.

need all new seat covers...and dash need a bit of attention..(gotta wait for those...out of the budget as of now)

once the carpeting gets here, interior is done ill get on detailing the engine compartment. trunk just needs a carpet liner ( i make those myself). i figure when its all said and done ill have 10G's in it including the price of the car, shipping it here, all new stuff i need and new rims and rubber....not too bad!

then ill get on the paint. it shines but not how i want it to......i cant believe how freekin solid this car is!

Yeah it looks like a nice care and I wonder if it has bondo. I bet its not solid like yours lol. I don't have any other cars and right now my budget if 3-4500 so it it something I will save up and keep going.

Did the floor pans show the original color of the car? I might have missed what you said the original color is. You have an awesome looking car and I bet will be a fun driving car.

Yeah the 304 I guess is ok could build something else and put in a car and have some fun but who knows lol I want a good driving fun car.

the original color was yellow. you can see it on the package tray. i painted the floors with some wild primer my buddy gave me that they primed high tension towers with...GUARANTEED NOT TO RUST!. i havent even driven this car yet, just turned it around to back it in the barn. im sure it will be fun and get better mileage than my 440 Belvy (4.5 mpg) ...LOL . jav 001.jpgjav 039.jpgjav 003.jpgjav 016.jpg

Your Belv doesn't sound like its to great on fuel dog! Ill wager it makes it up with some HP though! :) That looks real good, Pretty good car that you got there with the help from a Hummingbird! I think thats what ya said.. These are a nice looking car, Ive never driven one or rode in one, Hope the ride match's the looks, i know very little about them except, i like the design. Your off to a good start on it..

Dave I left you a v mail about a couple javis in a bone yard by monessen and if you want them I have a real original set of 14 magnum 500 centers and all from the 69 I sold last year to lous buddyup north

Thanks Jamie but i pretty much have all i need for it. its coming along nicely....and your directions on the phone were not clear in the slightest...lol thanx tho !
