Glad it arrived safe and sound! Hey, you are very thorough and after reading your list I feel a little bad like I didn't inspect things well enough. It sounds like you still got your moneys worth though, am I correct? How does the motor run in your opinion?

Of your 3 cars I still dig your 66 belvedere II the most!

And by the way, you've got a really sweet spread there with the barn. Something that's rare where I live. I had no garage until 3 months ago and now using my 2 car garage with the car on one side and the washer/dryer and beer fridge on the other but no land to speak of like your green lush paradise there.

the car runs great....except the fan shroud kinda " fell off" when i was jiggling things around. but it made it off the truck just fine. i gotta flush out the cooling system IMMEADIATELY with the cold weather commin. theres just rusty water in there now. dude...you did great. i wouldnt have bought it if you hadnt gone to look at it first, so dont be beatin' yaself up like that. i wasnt expecting a prefect car...after all bringing these cars back to life is what i love to do. like i said before,,,the body was the main thing i needed to be in the best shape , and it is... and it keeps me out of trouble and from strangling my "X" . lol . the Belvedere was in almost the same shape when i got it, but now its finished, road ready , and dependable.....same with the road runner.....none of these cars were perfect when i got them. thank you again for doing what you did for me.

Glad everything worked out for ya DOG! Now you're gonna have to update your picture.

Right on, tpodwdog! That Javelin looks AWESOME! Glad to hear it made it to you in one piece before the Frankenstorm.

BTW, is the body solid?

yeah the dash is cool...kinda hugs you in place. i was just out in the darkness seeing if the dash lights worked,,,,they do thank goodness i love the toggle switches on the dash too....very different.,,,,oh,....and i found the key to the lug locks......WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

looking at all 3 of them in the barn...i still like the mopars best. yeah the javelin got cool lines....BUT THERES NOTHING LIKE A MOPAR BABY! its just something new and different....to me anyway.....im just glad the body is in the shape it is ...coz i DONT do body work....detailing and mechanical and electrical is really my specialty... i want to thank you guys for being just as excited about this as i am....and a BIGGGGGGGG thanx to 68SportSatellite. i wouldnt have bought it if he hadnt gone and checked it out for me!

Well you are all set to have some fun...detail/mechanical/electrical are my things too...I've done a 1953 Bel Air... 1966 Chevelle...1965 Galaxie...1967 Suzuki Scrambler and our 1973 RR...I always make a list of what needs done and just tick them off one by one...the dash in the Javelins are way cool BTW...enjoy...Marla

$6500 plus shipping to the Burgh/Pa. or what ever you ended up paying for her... It runs & drives & has a V8 with A/C & has a SOLID BODY, did I mention a SOLID BODY....LOL... Good deal Dawg, she sounds like a great winter project, good to see she got there with all this gloom & doom of the impending "Super Storm", I'm glad to see your happy with your Calif. Gold..LOL... See Ya I'm done with Ya...

I found a 73 Road Runner in PA I think Pittsburg PA that has a 340 and a 4spd and the guy says its a survivor with no rust! But that scares me because I know how PA winters are and how the salt can be and eat away the cars we love.

Looking at your thread has got me looking at the AMC cars and the ones in my area. There are two one is painted FC7 and the other is a gold orange color both 72-74 model. I saw the gold one on a car lot the other day and when I came back by it was gone so not sure if they were just looking at other cars or what.

Great looking car you have and would love to see some night pictures of the dash all lit up. What motor was in it again?

congrats on your awesomely CUTE Javelin!!! I had an orange one with black rally stripes too once upon a time. No it can't be my old car, because the body of mine was less than SOLID!

Good luck with the resto and post more pics as you go!!

You might have started a Javelin club in the b body forum...LOL

I always liked them and the 68 is a fkn nice car thats needs a little attention and is show worthy IMO

WTF man one minute it says survivor and the next minute it says fresh paint..??

I like the first one that one looks really nice to bad its not a 390 car but still it has the go package. I also like the last one but needs work and the rust worries me. I do like that he is willing to trade firearms haha I wonder if he would like an AR15 for the car. I hate to get rid of the rifle but if the car is just surface rust it might be nice.....

I think tpodwdog has lit a fire for me to widen my search for a MOPAR to the AMC family.......I did see a nice 390 Jav and it was a 69 in PA but the guy was way out of line for price and it was on a used car lot......All man so many wants and so little money haha.

tpodwdog how did the night go with the Jav and the storm?

I was gonna ask if you were sure the body is solid... but I think that's already been beat to death :violent1: BTW nice javelin.

Thanks, just waiting for a return email from the guy. The auction ended and he had it listed at 8 thousand and something. The add did list a number and I'm going to try and call this weekend and see what he has to say about the car.

Now back to yours. If you need any parts and can't find them I can check with some local yards and a few car guys in the area. I know one place one guy will tell me he has nothing early just 80s and 90s and up but if you call back and someone elses answeres you get yeah we have a few 60s and 70s what do you need lol.

I can't wait to see some more pics and hear about it. Is that the original color of the car?

i was told it was originally yellow.....so far i havent seen any traces of that until i get the interior out.. ( it needs alot of love ).so as soon as i can get a few bass guitars listed on ebay...ill be doing alot of stuff that i dont need money for....like detailing and electrical. im currently laid off and really had no business buying this car and our BELOVED government is f***ing me around with my unenjoyment.im so glad i paid into that for almost 40 years...lmao

I'm glad I inspired you to go orange. If and when it stops raining, I'll be out to see the stable.
