THE JAVELIN HAS ARRIVED...in the storm

Your Belv doesn't sound like its to great on fuel dog! Ill wager it makes it up with some HP though! :) That looks real good, Pretty good car that you got there with the help from a Hummingbird! I think thats what ya said.. These are a nice looking car, Ive never driven one or rode in one, Hope the ride match's the looks, i know very little about them except, i like the design. Your off to a good start on it..
yeah Ron...its a neck snapper that Belvy is .....but maybe i can drive the Javelin for more than an hour before i have to fill it up again!...lol...

Dave I'm not good on those road names over there I know I could find it take you to it show you it anyway its the exit before the hot dog joint headed south its easy to get to just don't know the names but I know he got a couple of them up there on the hill he has old stuff cool old stuff to just not much mopar stuff

WELL.................. nice to be back after a "vacation"....which by the way i would like to personally thank for whom-ever was responsible for that. i got SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much done on the javelin during my "hiatus". but now the vacation for me is over as well as it is for you. back to babysitting the DAWG.

the Javelin (for those of you following this saga)..is 80% complete. the interior is restored back to original (with a few DAWG modifications)....that included new carpet and sound deadener...all interior panels refurbished by yours truely....new dash with clear glass you can actually see through....all new weather stripping ..(now the doors and windows are not seating properly)...i guess coz theyre new and spongy...but thats on the "punch list". interior lights all working....all gauges and idiot lights working....speakers installed (no stereo as of yet)...all new window cranks...new package tray....headliner fixed...windows and lock mechanisms in proper working order.

under hood resto is coming along nicely also....stray wires reunited with their proper mates.... cooling system all in proper working order... got the heater fan working....got the horn working but i think i need parts for that to make it "beep" like it should. new 1971 tail lights...coz i hate the 72 style. all brake lights and signals working. many parts arrived from EBAY...and as soon as they get out of the box...theyre on the car. new front end components....all brake drums resurfaced....brakes bled and actually stop the car now ! HURRAYYYYYYYY !!!!!!.

i removed the air conditioning components and stored them....coz really....how cool can you look in a Javelin with the A/C on and windows rolled up ?....besides...it didnt work anyway and it cost tooooooooooooo much to fix and i really dont want it anyway.new plugs, wires, cap rotor points and condenser.....SHE RUNS GREAT...for a 304. tranny shifts great (904 mopar) and kicks into passing gear now. gonna degrease the engine one last time before adding ginger bread under the hood and that will be all complete!

the only thing she needs is:

horn properly working- back up lights need wired up (found the wired just today)- seats need recovered- car needs a good polishing with a buffer...and the Javelin stripes applied...THEN ITS DONE....another new/ old car saved! i had it out on its maiden voyage today, put on about 30 miles with no issues. it handles WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than my mopars. amazing how this old car just hugs the road...i was pleasantly surprised !

...so thanx for the vacation guys...couldnt have done it without ya!..ill post some pix of the new interior later!

Sounds like you got a ton of work done while on vacation. Maybe you'll have a chance for a few more rides before the weather gets too crappy!

possibly....ill have to build another barn for that, and i cant locate any Amish around here....

Welcome back Dawg, you trouble causer you...LOL... good to see you got some **** done, any photos of the Javy ??, so we can see all the hard work & changes you've done...

i know i said ill get pix today, but i was so damn busy on that car that it got dark before i realized what time it was. today...was sway bar bushing replacement day. also it was tidy up all the wires that i know i fixed and are properly working day. Also it was timing and dwell day and play with the "motorcraft' 2 bubble carb day...after that it was also...........SEE IF I CAN BURN THE TIRES OFF DAY..... WHICH I DID.... frequently. being only a 304 2v...it got some giddy up. i spun the *** end and came up with 3:40's...something. the car weighs hardly anything and the rear end is a "one legger"...but she moves out pretty good. i PROMISE ill get pix tomorrow if it dont rain! if it wasnt for EBAY, i would NEVER get these cars done as fast as i do....and being laid off dont hurt either!

as far as being a 'rebel rouser"...i am far from that believe it or not. i speak my mind and some people just cant handle that....and dont necessarily agree with what i have to say...so.. the only way for them to get their point across is to pull rank...AND ANY OPINIONS OTHER THAN THEIR OWN...THEY SEE AS WRONG........but,,,,who cares....i am who i am and thats not going to change. there people on here that have said alot worse things than i did that i was witness to....but im not a whistle blower or a tattle tale. ya either love me or ignore me...thats all i can say about that, BUT I DID MISS YOU MORONS IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING !

Welcome back and can't wait to see more the car. I wonder what the weight of these cars are compaired to our B bodie cars of the same year or years.

my 70 road runner and 66 Belvy II are about the same weight at 3500 lbs( i think). the javelin weighs in at a whopping 2890 lbs.

Man Dawg, you work fast!!!
I wish you and I were neighbors so I could learn from your experience. Sometimes it takes me forever to get the simplest of things done. Other times, procrastination gets in the way!

Great work. Glad to hear about your progress with the car. You should take some short video of all your cars with walk arounds and the motors running so we can see the details up close with audio!

the Javvy looks like a new car on the inside. if it aint gonna rain today ill get a few pix. remember how the interior was all sun faded when ya looked at it? all fixed. i repaired the cracked dash panels( fiberglas resin and that white cloth repaired on the back side).. and painted then with this CRAZY paint made for plastic...YA CANT SCRAPE IT OFF. great stuff. yeah i get them done fast with the help of ebay, and you guys. it drives me crazy to have a car sitting around that dont run.....so i fix 'em FAST!

Welcome back, dog! Man, you do work fast! Looking forward to pics!

resto pix 1972 Javelin

ok guyz...i want you to know i had to weather the storm ( not really)..and got all WET today for these much requested pix. theres quite a few...keep in mind when im working i dont take many pix, but there are a few of "before"...and alot of " afters". it was raining and i kinda hurried to get these for yinz. theres a few of the other cars and some to show where my loyalty lies. enjoy and keep in mind its not completely finished yet. the engine needs detailed further, the paint needs a good buffing, and i still have to put the "Javelin "C" stripes" . on it yet. its a far cry from how i got it. note the tail lights are new also. i put 71 lenses in because i really dont like the 72's with the "egg crates". and the shifter handle is not completely on because i have to get in the console again and once you put that black shifter handle on....ITS ON..and ya cant get it off without breaking it. i accented the interior with the orange stripe...which is actually a pot metal insert. you can see thru the dash glass now. the engine bays wires and such are WAYYYYYYYYY more tidier than when i got it...along with a ton of other F*&$ed up nasty stuff.its coming along nicely and speedily....thanx to EBAGG. im waiting on a washer fluid bottle with the pump, other than that, i got everything working as it should. this car is BY FAR the worst one yet...as far as fixing everything...but theres still more to do. 412.jpgView attachment 92303005.jpgjav 001.jpgjav 003.jpgjav 002.jpg005.jpg006.jpg007.jpg008.jpg010.jpg009.jpg014.jpg015.jpg016.jpg017.jpg018.jpg019.jpg012.jpg020.jpg021.jpg022.jpg023.jpg010.jpg012.jpg017.jpg68SPORTSATELLITE im sure can attest to its previous condition !
