This meme brought up a thought in me....

I've never been as fond of cold weather as I am of Spring, Summer and Fall. I used to hear of the Groundhog and the "prediction" and laugh about it. He always seemed to call for 6 more weeks of Winter.
Then one time I looked at the calendar and realized that February 2nd is halfway between the start of Winter and the first day of Spring.
Yeah....six weeks.
That stupid rodent has been given far too much notoriety. Who would be stupid enough to let a rat make weather decisions for the country?
