The Roach

Looks great!! My computer and power module are mounted behind my glove box. The box had to be shorted for it to fit.

That sounds like a great location, but if the box is shorted, I believe it won't work and may be a fire hazard...
Just sayin'....
:poke: :lol::luvplace:

From a recent magazine article. As you can see, the two boxes are pretty ugly, but that’s where they have to go. The plus side is that there is only a few wires that have to pass through the firewall and the computers & leftover wiring aren’t going to be crammed into limited room under the dash

I don’t remember reading it, are you going with Dakota Digital gauges or sticking with the stock gauges?

While waiting for the green light from my body man, I started assembling some of the front suspension and getting rid of some boxes that are taking up space.

The body man gave me the green light to deliver it to him at the end of October. Time to start stripping paint off the roach next week.

:thumbsup:

Got one side done & 3/4 of the left side jamb stripped. Got to take the door off to finish the jamb, but that’s a job for another day. I’m done for today.

What are you using to strip? It looks great what a nice shell.

As per my body man, I start off with an 8” DA with 35 grit to take off most of the top finish coat, then switch to a 6” DA with 80 grit paper to get it down to the metal. I’m using a combination of “Beast Wheels” and various size wire brush wheels to get into the nooks and crannies of the door jambs.

Being that this is an original paint car, there’s no bondo or multiple paint layers to deal with.
