Wow, I'm having the same exact problem. Here's a link to my thread on the other site: http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=QuestionAnswer&Number=6821471 I was hoping for something simple up front (thus why I started out the thread asking about the harmonic balancer), but my fear is it's torque converter related (I have a TCI Streetfighter with less than 1000 miles on it - it was new when it went in in the spring, and the vibration came about in the fall. Everything was fine for awhile.)
I don't have a solution yet, but will pass along anything I figure out on my '68.

Here is another theory among the many that related to me.
Ran off road hit exhaust on kerb did not think too much of it but when engine was on load no vibration till around 3000rpm then when I back off vibration became worse. Exhaust Pipe although itself was not touching anything it had bought one of the header pipes across to touch the chassis and it only contacted that point when in higher rpm or when engine was backed off.
Took a while to sort that one out.

I got under neath is today and poked around... i checked the flexplate/torque converter bolts and they are all there and tight.. so i can rule that one out.. I noticed about 1 1/2 inch of slip yolk shine at the tail housing..I also took a measurement of the drive shaft and got 4 degrees... They are both out of spec, but im not convinced.... I tried to eliminate the accessories by taking off the belts.... but then it didnt want to start... so i put them back on and fired right up... thought that was a little odd. i figured that you would be able to start the motor W/O accessories... i guess not in my case... well thats the update........sigh!!!!

I have A 440 RB with some internals... I got this coronet from my father on memorial day, and have only been able to drive it a hand full of times.. Just like you said in your link.. fear of messing something up.... im getting to the point where id rather drive it and have it break....hell then ill know what the hell the problem was........lol

So it wasn't the Brake parts you have for sale that was causing you problem. You never mentioned to me as I pm'ed back and forth with you about the hubs and what condition they were in that you had hit a curb and bent a rim on the car. Thanks for the heads up!:angry1:

Not if it takes place in nuetral and park like he said it did. Any progress made on this?
Did you by chance watch the flywheel and T.C. as the engine was running? With a significant vibration in park and neutral something big has lost it's balance. It may just be that the flywheel or flex plate is not running true ... especially since it slid into the ditch.
Were there any obvious indications of damage/dents in the oil pan or on the flex plate inspection cover?

If it shakes in neutral the problem is somewhere from the dampner to the trans. Check your motor mounts and trany mounts. Chech the engine dampner, if its 2 piece it could have slipped out of place. Your torque converter is a definite possibility, if its about to puke the loose metal inside throws it out of balance.Even new ones fail.

The ditch slid was 2 years ago.. the vechicle has run vibration free untill only 6mo ago.. only issue that was related to that, was the bent rim.... so from May of this year has the vibration started and progressed to what it is now.. I did not watch the flywheel or torque converter as i was only by myself.... not damage to oil pan or inspection cover... there is no inspection cover....

Did the car stall out when you ditched it? If so the balancer may have spun a little on the hub. just another suggestion. Also a bad water pump can cause a vibration.
