I have been all over the web since 2010. I know that there are many car guys that have been online a lot longer but I was late to join in on internet stuff. Truthfully, I am often lazy to embrace new things.
I first joined Moparts in 2010. This was the most widely known Mopar site at that time and I enjoyed responding to tech questions on matters that I knew. For years prior to the internet, the Q and A of car magazines was a favorite of mine. I liked seeing when the answer was something that I was already thinking. I still do that with web forum questions.
I have learned SO much from these web forums. Guys from all over the globe, gathering together to share info...this is quite an amazing thing we have today.
Guys like Darius and Dennis H have said how they like THIS forum over all others. I always liked it but it took a few things to shift my loyalties from other forums to this one.
* Moparts has some Moderators that often times enforce rules inconsistently. Some guys there have posted stuff that stays while others with similar content get edited, deleted or banned. I have been banned several times for PG rated stuff that gets laughs here.
* The Moderators here have gone out of their way to be fair to me. Also, I see threads that get pretty edgy yet they are allowed to continue. Here, I don't feel as if I am hanging out with a crooked cop with an itchy trigger finger. That is great.
* Joey made some changes awhile back that I really like. The ALERT column is great. I like logging in to see who clicked AGREE, LIKE, THANKS and who quoted a post. I hate to admit it but that feature appeals to my ego like coming home to an answering machine with 20 messages on it. The DISAGREE column doesn't happen much because I suspect that most people here have the guts to tell you that they don't agree in a written post. I started a thread on FABO about how I thought clicking DISAGREE without a post to explain yourself felt like a "drive by" insult. I got hit with 26 DISAGREEs. I don't know if it was in my delivery or the opinion that they had a problem with.
* This site seems to get new members frequently. Its as if more and more B body cars are being dragged out of hibernation and these guys are in need of help.
In closing, I wanted to write an open THANKS to Joey and the Moderators for doing a great job with the site. It is a great site for many reasons but would surely collapse if they were asleep at the wheel.
Thanks to all, Carry on.

this is like a conservative mopar site and you are allowed to express your opinion
moparts is for the liberals that need their feelings protected from a opinion..

IIRC, I got banned from Moparts 3 times and the mods don't tell ya squat why. Don't know about now but that's the way it was many moons ago. One time I simply posted something that would improve the board. Eh....been a very long time since I even logged on there and not even sure if my user name still exists.

I stumbled on their site one day through a google search, I’d say a couple months back or so and a thread popped up from there I scrolled through it and there I seen a post by “cranky” and under that it read “Banned”

Holy crap....This makes sense. They sure liked that Doc Fiberglass guy for many years. He was banned a few times though. I saw his name on YellowBullet up until about a year ago.
That dude was strange.

Just logged in and I'm surprised that I remembered my password lol.....but, I made a post 12-31-16 and don't remember doing that. Must have been drunk but the post made sense :D

Greg, I like your style man. Good post and also very true. I think many here would agree 100% with your observations. For myself, I started here for the info and help, much like so many others, and stayed for the camaraderie. I miss that part of military life a lot and I get a "fix" here on FBBO. It's true that the likes and agrees that pop up about something I have said, or done, are an ego boost of sorts. That's hardly a bad thing. Everyone wants to be liked and agreed with...right?
I don't really like most people, in person I mean, but here I can have a wide circle of friends, from all over the planet, that share my interests and often my background too.
I have checked out numerous other sites and on each I tend to find that the most recent posts are months old, sometimes years old. That says a lot about those sites and about FBBO. The folks that run this asylum and the inmates here are to be congratulated for keeping this place rolling along, and current too. Always here, always fresh. Always MOPAR. FBBO.

he was a idiot clown who sniffed too many fumes
i probably hold the record for most deleted posts over there... lol
i got a 2 year vacation for something i said about the owner
not even on the site.
the owner was so paranoid he was spying on people on other sites
worrying about what they were saying about him.
i mostly go there as i have met some good friends from there over the years
and also i know that i have a fan club that hates my guts.
if i can ruin their day with a stupid post that makes it all worth it. :D

thank you guys that give valuble and time saving tips! and its all free! great site and great people right here.

I disagreed........ just to be a dick :icon_fU: (same reason you got 26) ......... it may be a first, now I feel dirty

actually, you are spot on....... I have no use for any other Mopar site

Ya I like FABO also but don't hang out there too often, and even though there are a lot of the same guys that are here, there is a different perspective ...their mods for the most part rule a little differently too.
FBBO is definitely the best!
For the most part I think there is much more respect for all members here. The pot stirrers are dealt with even handedly and get checked when things get ugly. Everyone here has pretty thick skin and don't take jabs personally.
AND FBBO has to be the only site that has its own jackstand racing league!!!:)
