thoughts about changes to roadrunner from stock

Guys,

I wanted to get some feedback on making some changes to a stock 69 numbers matching RR.

I wanted to get a sense of whether you think the following additions would add or subtract from the value of the car.

• Convert stock Drum Brakes to disk brakes
• Add air grabber setup to car that wasnt air grabber from factory
• Color change from Y2 Sunfire Yellow to Y1 Lemon Twist

Disc brakes are considered a plus by most,I think the air grabber may add value and is easliy changed back but the color change isn`t as easy to change.Depends how correct the car is now and what the buyer is looking for but for me the incorrect color would be a negative.

X2 especially since YI wasn't an option in 69.

I agree with everything but the color change. Although if your going to keep the car forever ( WHOEVER KNOWS THIS ) then that's different. Good luck.

I went through this with my GTX. It was bone stock. I have never left anything stock and it was killing me but it was mine and my fathers and he liked it stock. Well i finally convinced him to let me change some things and of coarse he loved it. Everything I have changed can be changed back of coarse. Really though, did any of us leave them stock back in the day? Wheels, headers, cam, tach etc. I also plan on keeping mine forever so as long as Im happy with it that's what really matters. I personally spend more time looking at modded cars at shows than stock ones. I like seeing the owner personalize their car. Have fun.

If I had a number Runner, I wouldn't change anything that couldn't be put back readily, especially paint/bodywork. If I were to change brakes, I would tag and bag all the stock parts for future resto.

Unless you have a body shop,the cost to change the color would be high enough to buy a project car to build as you wish.
My close friend has a 70 Roadrunner since High School.It WAS b5 blue.

I would make the car just the way I wanted it. As long as you don't cut it up let the next guy worry about keeping it original.

I am a Y2 owner, 69 Coronet. This Yellow is a classic muscle color. I would not change it. Mine was Hemi-Orange when purchased, and it was changed back to the original Y2. The 11" Hemi Drums work good. Put a Prayse-Dyno kit on it with modern blend shoe material and stronger springs. It's called brakes in a box. Hood? Your choice.

Sorry..... I meant to say that the car is Y1 (Lemon Twist- a 1970 color) today and I wanted to know if you would recommend me bringing it back to stock which is Y2 (Sunfire Yellow- a 1969 color).
The Y2 Sunfire Yellow isnt as dark and doesnt jump out at you as much as Y1 (Lemon Twist). The change back to Y2 (sunfire yellow) would cost me a few thousand more. Is it worth it? I am not sure if I will keep the car forever or not. thoughts guys? Any specific areas to focus on with a color change?
The car is an all numbers matching 69 RR convertible.

Now thats a different story. BRINGING IT BACK TO STOCK COLOR. Like hemi-itis said. Full color changes are not cheap. You know what they say about cars. Do it for the love of it because you may not make the financial gains by doing this color change,but that may not matter to you.

If its the color YOU like then I wouldn't change it. The brighter yellow stands out. My car is supposed to be T3 bronze and it's hemi orange now and I won't change it back until paint falls off. But then again mine not numbers matching

Here is my take. I buy my muscle cars to keep until I kick the bucket. I mean that is why I buy a car because I want it so I dont care about the original color one way or the other. If I like it then thats great and even if I painted it I would keep it the color it is but if I dont like it and want to change it then I would. Paint it the color you like as its your car.
Now thats just me but if you buy muscle cars to sell later then you might consider about the cars value with the original color if you want to make money from it.

But I dont buy cars to flip I buy and build my cars to drive , race and have fun and I only buy what I want ! As with my 63 I plan to keep it until I die and then my kids will get it. Someone would have to offer me 200K to even think of selling my 63 Sport Fury dream car as thats the only way I would ever consider thinking about selling it as I would need enough cash to build another one even faster which I dont plan to do. And I dont think anyone will pay me 200k for it which is good because I will never sell it. Have fun and enjoy the car ! Ron
