Three on the tree not shifting.

Hi again people. My 63 Savoy column shifter gave up on me today. Parked the car yesterday and all was fine, got in today and tried to select reverse and something felt funny. The shifter is no longer moving the shift levers. I realize that I have to remove the column to fix it but it's been about 40 years since I've repaired one of these gems. So what usually breaks in these things? I'd like to get a heads up before I dig in.

It can be as simple as getting it back togeather in the right position and making adjustments.

Take a look under the hood and see if you can move the linkage from there. It often got jammed up like that on my dad's car.
